Unfortunately, most doctors in Nigeria are quacks. They kill more patients than they cure! Even when they "cure" anyone it is usually by mistake! Nigerian hospitals are death factories!

The treatment of choice for S. aureus infection is penicillin. In most countries, S. aureus strains have developed a resistance to penicillin due to production of an enzyme by the bacteria called penicillinase. The first line therapy is penicillinase-resistant penicillins like oxacillin or flucloxacillin.

A few things.

1) Blood culture after 7 days? 3 days would suffice

2) Staph bacteraemia in an otherwise non septic patient is most likely to be a contaminant not cause of illness

3) The lab is dodgy. Try Me Cure . They are in several locations in Lagos for a reputable laboratory.

4) From your symptoms, whatever ails you, is not due to Staph Infection

5) You need to start afresh and see a general physician preferably someone who works in a teaching hospital

6) I wish you speedy recovery
