A fallen container on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway caused a serious traffic gridlock earlier this morning.

The container fell of a truck last night. The incidence occurred at Berger bustop inward Secretariat bus stop.

This morning, the fallen containers caused a serious impedance of free flow of traffic. The build up of traffic stretched as far back as towards Magboro axis.

Officials of the LASEMA Response Unit (LRU) visited the scene to carry out recovery of the fallen container.

The very reason why the country has distorted economic and social growth. How does prayer factor in this?

Why can’t there be a standardized policy for those drivers to comply with in fastening these freight containers before they ply the road? Why aren’t there off-peak and peak hours for them to ensure that the congestion is eliminated? Why aren’t there drastic penalties for offenders?

These are reasonable questions that should be thought-provoking... not the prayer retort!

Hope no life was lost? I use to wonder what is the duty of road sefty official anytime I see a flat body trailer carrying a container without heavy duty industrial belt.

Infact the way containers are trailing all the roads in Lagos state, is totally disheartening.

somehow I begin to think Lagos is no more what it use to be, I thought Lagos already has a process where things work automatically but in the last few weeks that gov. ambode has lost the bid to contest lagos has been on pulse. The container fell around 6 pm yesterday and up till around 9-10 a.m today the container was still there, before when lagos is working within 1-2 hours the container would have been removed but when I passed there this morning it was only FRSC and police that are trying to divert vehicles to pass no Lastma around the place.

Senate should pass a law to punish any container that is a death trap on the road. This is getting too much. The way I avoid these demons on road..... ha! Gat to over speed and "blow horn" like a mad man beside them. Or just stay far away behind them, and end up getting to your destination late. Better than acceleration to six feet below.
