About 80,850 All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains and stalwarts from Yobe south have shifted their loyalty to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The defectors were drawn from Potiskum, Fika, Nangere and Fune Local Government Areas that formed Yobe south senatorial district.

Even if they said 80% of people in Yobe South defected to PDP, it is not a lie. In 2015 election, that zone voted for Dambu as senate. Alkali Jajere who was serving senator in 2015 was in APC and an incumbent senator yet he lost. Even people in Yobe State are always surprised by the PDP performance in Yobe Zone B senatorial district
