Veteran Nigerian comedian, Ali Baba in his advice to ladies in a post he shared via his social media space said, 'if as a lady, you are not financially independent, marriage should not be your priority'.

He went on to say, 'that era of being financially dependent on a man expired many years ago. Sadly, very few women started late to realise that they also had the equal personal requirements to make themselves financially independent'.

right.
"...the modern relationship and marriage is certainly not in the same mold as the ones of old.
"Money, bills, finances, holidays, gifts and basically how money is generally spent in a [marriage] is now more joint, and the idea of marriage as a partnership has never been more seriously taken.
"Couples in serious relationships now make plans before marriage on how much each partner contributes of their monthly income, they discuss joint accounts, and how bills are settled; and really, this is the advisable model, except one partner is super rich and can afford to handle all of the bills and finances."
Times have changed now and it is better to be the wife who marries and stays married on her own terms, and not because she has no other option but to be.

In Nigeria it is o. It is only here I have seen broke and jobless singles getting married where the sponsors of the wedding is their parents and will still stay with parents. They will even shout it as testimony. And that is what our pastors want to be hearing. And after few weeks or after childbearing they become debtors borrowing money up-and-down from singles without paying back giving stupid excuse.
Yet still and annoyingly, they hold on that they got married because they are more matured than those singles they are borrowing money from.

In this part of the country where I come from, they don't c it that way o, they believe if you've reached a certain age and yet married, you already a failure..so sad.
Imagine a boy of 24 fresh outta skul no job yet impregnating a girl and his people hailing him except a few.

Marriage is more than p*ssy strafing o, those that know knows.

It's not possible because naija women of today depend totally on men for almost everything such as: money for hairmaking, money for transport, money for food, money for airtime etc. The women warriors will soon come to this thread and blast alibaba, many will claim to be financial independent but most of them can't even browse the internet without their boyfriend/husband giving them money for subscription.

In Nigeria,

Ladies hurry into relationship or marriage just for financial freedom. This is so true.

They have turned relationship into employer vs employee.

But things have changed. And ladies have to embrace that and not just sit down waiting for proposal anymore.
