You can still beat it down to 1m or less since its not the luxurious infiniti i30 variant. THough if you like it buy it very solid vehicle and good engine. Doesn't fall apart easily and the 3.5L V6 is power on demand responsive engine.
This is a 2002/2003 model year
Note: has a very poor resale value around 400k naija used.

This is the 2000/2001 maxima, 3.0 V6. Engine is good but watch out for the transmission. If you buy a good one with good transmission you'll enjoy it. I have one like this parked for years. Be careful of the electricals too. Could present some issues that can drive you nuts. Resale value not good too, that's if you'll see who will buy from you.
If you are on budget, buy something else.

The electrical problems does it mean i can't get a technician to fix it just in csse it becomes faulty? Kindly let me know. I don't have a problem with the economic value of resale. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

Thanks a lot sis...

Very good and reliable vehicle.u shld have it inspected by a competent mech before purchase

There is no car in this world that won't develop faults, its expected. That's why there are various people out there who dedicated themselves to solve these issues whenever they arise.

If your mind wants you to buy it,then buy it and enjoy.

See them. Most times peeps wey dey talk like this has never had first hand experience of wetin dem dey talk.

@OP, I am using the 98 model maxima going 3yrs now and I even bought mine Naija used. Very strong and reliable car. Also offers certain level of comfort for a car its age. Powerful 3.5 engine. I've done countless trips from Lagos including 4 trips to the east and back and I never had any problems with mine. Also I believe if you take good care of any car it will also reciprocate the gesture.
Like someone said, go with a good and trusted mech to check it out and I think you should get a deal for 800k. If you have a good maintenance habit you won't have any issues.

This car was from the golden age of Nissan. The years after the 2003 model is another matter entirely( for the worse)

On the contrary sir. This is the 2000/01 model. It was equipped with the VQ30 engine which was a revised carryover of that used in the 1995 to 1999 Model.

The dead giveaway was the rear taillight which is all transparent in the 02-03 model but red / clear in the 00/01 model.
We can say it is the prefacelift of that generation of maximas

1,250,000k is too much for that car, there are many cars u will get with that kind of money like 05honda Accord,05 Toyota Camry,03 Lexus rx300,03 Lexus GS 300,03/05 Toyota Avalon,03/05 Toyota Corolla,04 m Benz c-class/e-class, with cars like this I still wonder why u like that Nissan.

I now understand... Don't buy Nissan then, please. Nissan is only for experienced drivers who know how to manage a car and have money to be visiting mechanic every now and then.

I assume it'll be your first car... The Nissan/Avalon are V6 ... 6 cylinders.... If you're someone who travels much over long distances often... You could buy v6

But if it is just for home/work commute.... It doesn't make sense to buy V6 since you won't be speeding on expressways. Buy 4 cylinders.

The are lot of naija used 4 cylinder 2003-2005 Toyota Camrys for sale at 800k ... Something like in the link below.

https://www.nairaland.com/5017987/big-daddy-2003with-newly-fixed#75647964

https://www.nairaland.com/4984128/used-toyota-camry-big-daddy#75125896

If you can up your budget to N1m, buy tokunbo, better... Otherwise when buying naija used, ensure all the electricals/wirings are in factory settings/not been tampered with before you pay. If you start the car and the "engine fan start running immediately, the wiring has been tampered with.

Don't buy Nissan. Any of the Toyota brands will do since you're a first timer in the use of automobile, else mechanics go build mansion on top your head o. Don't say we didn't earn you o.

You have heard it from motoguru a season technician who certified it OK.

I have also told you it's an OK product I have used Nissan b4 and an avid follower of the brand

A first hand experience user also said it's a reliable car which he has used for 3 years.

if you can't afford 10 to 12L of fuel per 100km don't buy it

if the mechanic says the specimen has fault don't buy it

someone said buy the Avalon funny, the 1mz in the avalon is not as strong as the Vk in this Nissan.

they said buy corolla if thieves snatch it or burgle the corolla he Don finish be that.

A Nissan tokunbo for 800k (if seller agree) is 100% better than a naija rocked ticking time bomb cary big daddy

A word is enough for the wise
