Danish aid worker, Anja Loven Ringgren shared before and after photos of a young boy they rescued in Akwa Ibom two years ago after being branded a witch, beaten and abandoned on the street by his family.

This morning facebook reminded me about what happened exactly 2 years ago today.

On the 13 of February 2017 Nsidibe Orok, Director of Child Development of ACAEDF and I went on a rescue mission alone.

A boy was abandoned and left alone on the street.
We found the boy with scars all over his body. He was accused of being a witch. He was brutally beaten.
This was the day Elijah was rescued, one of David Jr.’s best friends today.

Notice when something positive happens in Nigeria then its the giant of Africa at work. When it's the usual negative stuff like killings and primitive superstitious beliefs like this then Africa gets attacked, meanwhile its only Nigerians who are being their usual selves. This exists all over Africa but you Nigerians take your religious beliefs to the extreme. Take some goddamn responsibility Nigerians instead of quickly hiding behind 'we're all Africans, we're all backwards excuse'. You're the so-called giant of a Africa for a reason.

People will sure come here and write hallowed epistles of love and harmony, while bashing Africa (see various hypocritical posts on top and there'll definitely be more) but trust me this child could have lived in their neighborhood and they would have done nothing to help simply because they believe this witchcraft bs themselves and would have been afraid to even go close to the boy. But now that it's here, they get to show how civilised and kind they are because this is the net, everyone is as smart as Einstein and as kind as Mother Teresa here. Sometimes its as if being a religious nut and hypocrite go hand in hand.
