Why would NUC not allow them to improve? Curious.

If i understand him well, I think NUC is overdoing the regulation of curriculum in schools. Foreign schools have little restriction and are free to remove some of those biology and mechanical inclined courses to help accommodate more computer science related courses. Cc : asalimpo

Don't you think since most of these non CS course are in 100 and 200L level there is nothing wrong?

Uniport my uniport. I graduated 11 years ago and I can't believe Qbasic and C++ are still part of the curriculum in this 2019! Even Fortran is still there......Fortran in 2019! That curriculum needs a total overhaul!! Naija na wa!

c++ is far from dead. Fortran is dead but still used in niches- the scientifc community. I think it handles numerical computation better than c++ and matches it or exceeds it in speed! Most theoretical physicists swear by it.

. Leave them alone.. Ignorant Bunch, even in Stanford CS Department.. programming isnt more than 2 semesters.. serious lambda calculus and automata theory, and linear algebra all year long

I don't think all the languages there are meant to teach them the language itself but to help familiarize them some programming concept as well as prepare them for other packages.
MS Excel for example is a program that allows VB script to help make it robust and it won't be out of place to be taught Visual Basic in anticipation of MS Excel integration.
