Five Boko Haram fighters and four soldiers were killed in fighting in Yobe state the military said on Sunday, in the latest clashes between troops and terrorists. Army spokesman Sagir Musa said five rebel fighters “met their Waterloo” as they attempted to overrun a military base in Buni Yadi, in Yobe state, at about 6:00 pm (1700 GMT) on Saturday. “An officer and three soldiers have lost their lives during the encounter. While five soldiers were wounded are stable and receiving treatment in the Brigade Field Ambulance,” he added. Musa said the heavily armed militants were in four gun trucks and two armoured vehicles. Troops seized weapons and ammunition, he added. The military base in Buni Yadi has been targeted before in the conflict. In January, two military sources told AFP the Islamic State-allied faction of Boko Haram killed four soldiers and were repelled after air support was called in. In recent months there has been a wave of attacks in the Buni Yadi area, which is near the border with Borno state — the epicentre of fighting since 2009. Most of the attacks on military positions and troops have been blamed on or claimed by the self-styled Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) faction. President Muhammadu Buhari who was elected in 2015 on a promise to defeat the Islamist militants, maintains the group is “technically defeated”. Buni Yadi was the scene of one of Boko Haram’s most notorious attacks, when fighters loyal to long-time leader Abubakar Shekau stormed a boys’ boarding school in February 2014. More than 40 students were killed as they slept. https://www.channelstv.com/2019/02/17/five-boko-haram-terrorists-four-soldiers-killed-in-yobe/amp/ |

Never again will APC rule Nigeria. Never again will Buhari rule. Those who are packaging buhari for Nigerians don't mean well for this country he is not qualified to be Nigeria's President, he should instead be appointed EFCC chairman to fight corruption better since that's the only thing he know how to do best...PERIOD!!!! Atiku is going to win this election as expected by majority of Nigerians. Security reports available to Presidency indicate so too, that is why they postponed the elections to restrategize. If INEC colludes with APC to declare Buhari winner, if he loses, I call on H.E. Atiku Abubakar, to declare himself President should INEC rigs Buhari in. Atiku would be the legitimate President recognize by the world. The International Community would then be left with no other option but intervene to remove Buhari from power and restore the legitimate President to power. 12 Likes |

Casualty Nigerian Army -4 : BH-5. Meaning BH is more well able than our military under a clueless retired "quota system" general.Too bad. This self-inflicted carnage will only end the day the APC government, core northern leaders/elites and the overwhelming local population truly acknowledge that their self-bred monster is really a problem. 9 Likes |
