The Managing Director Nigeria Railway Corporation, Fidet Okhiria, who received the wagons at the Apapa Port in Lagos, said the imported open wagons are in a renewed effort by the government to decongest the Apapa Port.

Okhiria added that the wagon which is to be used for container traffic and general cargo movement will be deployed immediately to the dry seaports in Kaduna and other states.

Okhiria said that the government is expecting more coaches, wagons, and locomotives for the standard gauge line which is expected to arrive this year.

Each of the deployed 18 wagons has the capacity to freight two units of 20 feet containers or one unit of the 40 feet container.

Finally it took NRC a whole year before they got the wagons. They should make haste on get more for standard guage rails. After they start moving goods on rails they might start making a profit. I hope the government doesn't subsize it like they do with passenger tickets.

Pray that cargo isn't overcharged to subsidise passenger traffic!

Im hoping the NRC wont be that dumb. They have a clear competitive advantage over truckers. The narrow gauge tracks are still being concessed so that wont be issue at least. They should raise ticket prices incrementally and start online ticketing.

APC didn't come to rule at first, they came to fight and for revenge.
APC's administration crippled our economy times 2
APC put everyone in a state of misplaced priority. Some Nigerians don't even know their right again.
Say no to APC.

Dubai operate their oil section like Public-private driven including the popular Emirate Airplane. These people mean business.
Whatever other countries are doing and doing it well regarding their oil sector do it here.
Why is that anything to bring change we quickly kick against it?
But we refuse to suggest further except it for selfishness.
Re: FG Takes Delivery Of Rail Wagons From China by BuhariLooter(m): 8:54pm On Feb 21, 2019
The most bastardize oil industry in the world is NNPC
The most corrupt oil sector in the world is NNPC.
The stealing by government officials is second to none anywhere.
The best for NNPC is public-private(shareholders) business run by thirty party a reputable non- government organisation. For check and balance.
The concern for FG should be revenue, and leave experts to run NNPC affair under government supervision.

So Niger Deltans should vote Buhari an ethnic bigot that turned NNPC into a fulani enterprise for the Cabals planting his family members in every department led by ABBA KYARI and BARU with $25 billion already embezzled under the leadership of Buhari, the self appointed minister of petroleum?
Uterly CORRUPT GOVT OF APC rule by northern cabals will of couse use willing southern slave to object what is good for Niger Delta like selling NNPC because that is where northern extremist and terrorists get resources to buy arms for their BOKO HARAM and FULANI HERD MEN foot soldiers.

It's not good. How can goods land in Tinkan port, then... It's freight to Kaduna? Why not take them Southern Consignment to South while Northern consignment to the North.

While not have more ports? May God help Africa.

Niger Delta Sons and Daughters and their State govts will have the first RIGHT OF PURCHASE for NNPC. This is the best policy that will make NNPC compete favourably with the likes of US CHEVRON AND BRITISH PETROLEUM BP as a PRIVATE ENTERPRISE. This is what is done in civilized countries.
It is FAR BETTER to sell NNPC to Niger Deltans to develop their region with their own God given resources than continue the status quo where people like Buhari use it as Northern family biz to bank roll dubious activities around the country.

They Dry port already recieves cargo by truck. Why complain about it using rail? They are taking consignment to correct location dont stress yourself.

They are building more ports. Look up Lekki, Ibom and Badagry deepseaports.

Please get my point, how does it profit a South South consignment owner to go to Kaduna to clear his container, with extra charges incurred from freight (Lagos-Kadunal)?

Why would you request your goods to be shipped to Kaduna? They dont send it there for no reason. If you live in SS just have your goods shipped to port closet to you. The people who patronize Kaduna dry port stay in hinterlands.
