The new Nigerian Defence Headquarters spokesperson Onyema Nwachukwu has resumed, and his first point of call was an appeal for media for its support in the Nigerian army's effort to defeat terrorism and criminality in the country.

The new Defence spokesperson Onyema Nwachukwu who resumed duty on  Friday after John Agim, a Brig.-Gen., handed over to him, acknowledged the contributions of the media in the quest to rid the North-East of insurgency and terrorism, noting that they had defied the dangers associated with it.

Before resuming duty at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters,  Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu was the Deputy Director Public Relations, Headquarters Theatre Command Operation LAFIYA DOLE. He is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan, holds a Masters Degree in International Affairs and Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Post Graduate School Kaduna. He also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising and Public Relations from the International Institute of Journalism Abuja.

He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, and has attended several military and professional courses as well as seminars within and outside the shores of Nigeria which include Deputy Spokesman/Media Operations Course at the Joint Information Activities Group, Royal Airforce, Halton United Kingdom and Special Operations Command Course at the Shijizhuang Military Academy, China, Strategic Communication Course at the Nigeria Army School of Public Relations and Information, Lagos and the Counter Terrorism Course, at the Infantry Corp Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.

Asides serving  various Units and Commands within and outside the Nigerian Army, Onyema Nwachukwu who once served as the Media Coordinator, Joint Task Force Operation Pulo Shie, was Assistant Director Defence Information (NA), at the DHQ, Chief of Staff Headquarters Directorate of Army Public Relations and Public Relations Officer NDA.

They always use erudite Southerners to clean up their mess. You shouldn't be surprised at all. Just take a look at a professor going around local markets like an isusu collector sharing N10k while Buhari is having tea at State house. Atiku is having a cool ride/flight with Saraki gallivanting around important places and meeting important people while Peter Obi is roaming the markets meeting petty traders and Keke riders. I'm yet to see people as stupid as South€rners.
