Starting Pig Farming From Scratch
There are several key factors to consider before deciding to farm pigs, whether intensively or free range
In a free-range farming system it is important to provide some form of shelter for the pigs such as these special houses for the sows and piglets. The triangular shape allows the piglets to move to safety in the low corners should their mother roll onto them by mistake while sleeping.
Compared with other livestock such as sheep, goats and cattle, pigs are sensitive animals requiring a higher level of management. However, when farmed properly, they can yield a better financial return because of their breeding rate (10 piglets in a good litter) and a feed-to-meat conversion ratio that is far better than that of other livestock.
Pig Farming is now getting popularity. This is mainly because of the recent fast food restaurants. They are incorporating the Pork (Pig Meat) into various food items. With this, the people are also getting the taste of Pork. Another major thing in here is that people are liking the Pork and they are accepting it. Hence now the demand for the Pig Farming is increasing. Many people are starting pig farming in their own backyards since it does not cost much. Five Reasons Why Youth Should Choose Agriculture
Re: Pig Farming by rockh2065: 10:21am On Apr 02, 2019
What type of career do you aspire to have? Do you want to be an artist, a business person, or a policymaker?

Or, have you ever wanted to become a farmer? I would not be surprised if you said no.

When weighing career choices, many young people in the developing world tend to shy away from agriculture. I, too, once found myself disenchanted by the small villages and rice fields I grew up seeing every day. As the conventional belief goes, agriculture means an archaic lifestyle and a future with limited opportunities for youth.
Re: Pig Farming by rockh2065: 11:52am On Apr 03, 2019
But I later learned I was wrong. Plenty of evidence shows us that agriculture provides youth a viable way to harvest success and grow a sustainable future. In other words, I believe youth can, and should, choose agriculture. Here are five reasons:

Agriculture is up to four times more effective than other sectors in reducing poverty. Increasingly, the world is counting on agriculture to produce more nutritious food for — and improve the livelihoods of — a booming population, especially the poor. What could be more meaningful than being part of a proven solution to such a critical challenge?

are you looking forward to start your pig farming?
Re: Pig Farming by rockh2065: 11:40pm On Apr 08, 2019
Profitable pig farming is not as easy as it sounds and if you have tried it already you may have discovered this for yourself. Pigs are growing too slow? Pigs are way to fat? Litter sizes are small? Sow are not producing enough piglets? Pork has boar taint? Feed is costing way to much money? Pigs are getting sick or doing poorly?

There is a saying, 'You can't fatten a pig on market day'. This saying is very true but we also want you to understand that just putting pigs in a paddock with whatever cheap feed is available (even if it is in generous supply) is probably not going to produce healthy, marketable pigs or much profit.
