Four Important Things I Learnt From The Nigerian 2019 Election by Eres94: 4:32pm On Feb 27, 2019
1) The illusion of a 3rd force: what a waste of votes on many political parties that participated in the presidential election. there wasn't any real emerging dark Knight episode but only a woeful failure by many candidates that mean well, were energetic & with reliable résumés to lead the country. only scattered crumbs of votes were the gathering of the day. Durontoye, Sowore, Moghalu, Hashim, etc & their parties never really made an impact but only were heard not acknowledged by a majority during the election across many States.

2) Higher ignorance base, Higher voting behavior in the North.
A friend of mine summarized it in the most clinical way.
Who voted the highest... the north
who won the highest... Buhari
who suffers the most... the north
who has the highest rate of ignorance.... the north
who will boko haram kill the most..... the north
who will herdsmen disturb more.... the north
which majority will keep being deceived.... the north

And yet with their whims & majority hold on political power in the era of democracy astonishingly the west, south & east are performing much better.

3) The South East attitude towards Rulership
There will always be this ghost that will hunt the Igbos towards a core Hausa/Fulani ruling them. the civil war of 1960 will always be a scar or bad dream they will never forget.. in Game of thrones there is an saying "the North remembers" well 2019 election clearly reveals the "South east remembers"
plus the president and his political activities such as appointments, labelling a harmless group like ipob a terrorist org, heavy military exercises & complacency to fix a working bridge between the North & South
etc all informs us that just like sooner or later the north in Game of thrones rose against the capital
a time will come when the south east cant take it any more.

4) The End justifies the loyalty
Who really are the security agencies for ?
the government or the people ?
Lopez gave us a simple truth which every Nigerian civilian should be weary of.
He said during a great revolution or battle for justice sort at the doors or corridors of those given power
who will the police/army stand for or against ?
obviously it will now & always be the government
and the people shouldn't blame them because it is the government that employed them & to them they hold accountability to not the people.
so therefore what we have beyond the deceit that they are there to protect lives & properties & maintain peace & order is that they are instruments that can be used against people who are "defenceless"

US citizens can carry out a strong & violent revolution against their government if they want becos they are allowed to use guns even when security agencies are deployed against them but what about Nigerian citizens. Who really would back you against a notorious government if it emerges.
time & time again its evident we do nothing when the government crosses the line.
we can only do little like complain & joke about it
