This has been happening long ago. In my primary school, there was no Primary 5. Primary 1 used books meant for Primary 2, Primary 2 used books meant for Primary 3 and so on. Primary 5 used books of Primary 5 and Primary 6 used books or Primary 6.

I don't think the 6-3-3-4 is really necessary. 6 years is too long for primary school in my opinion. Remember that there is also nursery, kindergarten and daycare.

It wasn't the best, our fathers operated under 6-5-4 which was better. 6-3-3-4 is just a waste of 2 yrs i.e pry 6 and ss3. All I did in pry 6 was revision of pry 5 subjects while SS3 was a revision of SS2 subjects.

Parents and Teachers of nowadays,in order to meet up with the times are neglecting what is most important and chasing at shadows..

When is the last time you ever noticed a Kid failing in class and REPEATING? even if that kid comes last in a class of 30,he gets a report card saying he came 30 out of 35,NEVER 30 out of 30 and NEVER repeating that class..

We need to evaluate what is most important to us as parents,a well grounded and sound education of our kids or him breaking the record of who graduated at the youngest age in the neighborhood.

I read about this change sometime ago, I didn't know it's now in implementation.
The 9-3-4 is basically the 6-3-3-4 in short form. They’re all the same because the 9-3-4, which is Basic 1-9 is the same thing as Primary 1-6 and JSS 1-3. My problem is that private schools are shortening the length of this program.
