The High Speed Rail was proposed for Coastal States corridor. Cutting travelling time 11 hours from Lagos to Calabar by road to less than 3 hours by bullet Train. Amaechi should hop this ASAP the coastal railline would be one of the more profitable routes in terms of passenger rail traffic. It will be good for interstate commerce. I trust the American work more than the Chinese any day. Besides this company seems to do good work. I do like their how their terms are transparent aswell. 29 Likes 3 Shares |

Blue3k:Exactly. In addition to this, they should make it 'tech transfer' unlike those Chinese guys that will be forming 'foreign language' when it comes to exposing the cores to the Nigerian technical crews. pdiddy100:Grow up bro everybody is in March 2019 designking:I agree with you. But let's be hopeful that things are possibly getting better. May be our attitude as a country (majorly through our leaders tho) have been blowing up the opportunities. May be this might be the time for progressive nation, its all about our attitude to function well. I assure you that if good attitude is being guaranteed from the necessary qtrs, we ll get there. Mind you, nobody, no decent society wants to invest in a porous system like ours except the smart cunning ones that know the crookered ways to go about it. China has distinction in that! Take that from me. 13 Likes |

These are empty offers. The America based investors always propose big offers but that is where it ends. No action or move to actualize their talks. The Chinese remains the only true investors willing to help build our infrastructure. Where is the GE mega power generation plant they propose few years back? US investors likes talks and memo too much. 34 Likes 2 Shares |

Western world has been crying like a baby since China has started investing in Africa, they have played every game to derail Africa/China infrastructural partnership and it has not been successful now they have no choice but to join the partnership. 16 Likes 4 Shares |

This seems like a well-thought-out proposal that's worth considering, as long as it is managed by the expatriates themselves. It will most likely become stories if the loan is handed to FG to manage the projects. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

if pdp/atiku could lay their hands on this cash, I fear generations that will not read this history would keep paying the debt. the more reason they vehemently want a return, this is what they do for a living. americans wanting to partner the lifeless one, want partner the shit hole. willingly they are making the offer. Buhari is a failure, APC is scam...........indeed. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Lymasaba:That is the beauty of multipolar world, the beauty of competition and alternative. Capitalism does not operate that way, capitalist is about exploitation of the people around to your own benefit and keep them in the position of exploitation for ever. Emergence of China distort the party for the west, during cold War Era soviet union tried to do what China is doing now, but too much wars and instability reduced the prospect, however China is preparing Africa for future China ie industrial Centre or factory of the world while China is trying to move to upper class of production which is more profitable, more of mental work than industrial stuff. olajide8: They have not lost out at all, the race has just began, I only wish Africans can take advantage of this race now to their own benefit but trust African leaders, all they care about is their own pocket and insatiable corruption. 7 Likes |

designking: you are right but no one would love to put his or her money in a gulping machine. a good number of our debt are from grant, loan etc that are meant for projects that are not executed, mind you money are currently back in their economy as a result of embezzling, starched in some vault in some ikoyi towers, maitama duplex, some buried. check the Chinese they come down to execute the project themselves knowing who our leaders are. if the americans adopt this method it work. who knows if exim is having a trust is this government let's keep our fingers crossed. 2 Likes |

designking: Things are changing. America wants to challenge China's growing influence in Africa. The Trump administration is setting up a new fund entirely which will be focused on establishing US investment foothold in Africa in order to reduce Chinese influence and control. This new strategy is a big deal as it is US government money. Not private US companies like GE. The fund will apply to projects across Africa, not just Nigeria. Saying that, the US investment is unlikely to match China's but it will still be a win for African countries. I personally believe this could be the best investment news for Nigeria in several years. I hope the Buhari government will grab this opportunity with open arms. But, don't bet on it as Nigeria may be afraid of upsetting China which is lending us so much. That will be a grave error. We need to play both sides. The 2 elephants want to fight in our territory. If we play our diplomatic game right, there will be one winner. Nigeria. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Let move at our own pace, i think a Bullet Train for Nigeria now is not economically sustainable even the chinko Rail we currently building now are not yielding their running cost yet. Majority of Nigerians can not afford to travel by air, not to talk of bullet train, the fee is almost X2 or X3 of the air-fare. Or can you pay 30-35K naira from calabar to Lagos? This price is even small considering we don't even have a stable electricity, if the transportation company factor this into the fare the price will be like 50K one way unless we are asking for another subsidy from FG. If you can pay, how many Nigerians can pay that, how are we going to payback the loan. US want to add salt to our Injury, its an economic trap. Blue3k: 1 Like |
