The Latin Dance Company (TLDC), a parent company with The Latin Dance Club, After Work Salsa and Absolute Salsa Competition as subsidiaries and 92.3 Inspiration FM in conjunction with the Nigerian Heart Foundation (NHF) brings for the first time to Africa the "Salsa Africa Festivals: World Record Attempt" which will be holding in Nigeria come Saturday, 25th September, 2010.

Nigeria will be attempting to set a new World Record with 2000 plus couples dancing Salsa together on a dance floor in one venue. The current  record for the largest salsa dance consisted of 451 couples and was organized by Jose Perez and Tjapko Smits (both Venezuelans) at the Caracas Hilton Hotel,  in Caracas, Venezuela, on the 1st of October, 2006. TLDC has the hosting approval from GWR for the Event. This is going to be the largest, biggest, Salsa gathering the world has ever witnessed and guess what, it's happening here in Nigeria!

This is the first ever Salsa festival which will be bringing together 4000 individual youths, under-graduates, graduates, young folks (+18) who are fun-loving, need to relive stress, meet people, hang out with friends and is also a good form of exercise where the heart works out in the process of having fun. It is an all-in-one package.

Fortunately, the world will be celebrating "The World Heart Day" that weekend which we are also a part of, as we join the world in promoting a heart healthy lifestyle campaign in conjunction with the Nigerian Heart Foundation as they mark their celebration on the 26th September, 2010.

About 10 years ago, the first ever World Heart Day was in September 2000, now on a yearly basis, the World Heart Federation (WHF) and its member countries celebrate the progress in the area of heart health. Now, a decade has come, a new milestone and the WHF is urging governments at all levels, health-care professionals, institutions, employers and individuals to promote programs that in turn will help reduce the incidence of  Cardio-Vascular diseases/infections among the citizenry.

We at TLDC, know and understand these health implications, that is why as a company that prides itself in promotions via the Latin dances where Salsa dancing is one. It is a fun, relaxed, stress-less and exhilarating form of exercise workout. Even the American Heart Association and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have recommend dancing as a way to stay fit, well, in shape or in shedding weight.
