Bla bla bla bla bla talk talk talk talk without actions.
WHAT is this talk about N10 billion for Zamfara crisis again?

North West trying to start their own boko Haram, right?

Please we should focus on stopping that legislation.
No need for N10 billion for Zamfara IDP!

N60 billion for Boko Haram
N40 billion for NE IDPs
N10 billion for Zamfara IDP

But
N40 billion for Agriculture
N50 billion for Education
N100 billion for Judiciary

Do you all see where am going?

This SENATE A MOVING US BACK TO STONE AGE!

POOR EDUCATION
POOR AGRICULTURE
POOR JUDICIARY
POOR LAW ENFORCEMENT

They talked all the money to make the laws,
Then NO money for the interpreters and enforcers.

They should throw away that constitution and go and copy Switzerland constitution.
That is the best way for peace and stability to start in Nigeria.

State police combined with local police is the only way forward for improved security, intelligence gathering, to ensure that some states such as Lagos that wants to run a 24hours economy can do so in peace; to quickly detect aliens within the community, to have a more organised database of incidences within the locality, to improve security agencies response time to community crises. With the emergence of state and community policing you can now hold the governors accountable for any crises within their state. The vice president is also an adherent support for the establishment of state police. Those shouting that we are not ready for state police, should we also scrap the state legislature. Foreign investors will only invest in a country where there are guarantees of safety of lives and properties. We have over the years seen the pitfalls of a federal police structure with the high level of centralisation and bureaucracy time to rejig the security structure for the benefit of all Nigerians.

state police will be a good one but I fear they ll be worse than fed police in due course considering the way state traffic agencies have fared so far

We just can't and shouldn't have state police run in a tribalistic country. Forget it. The cons outweigh the pros.

Obviously not now.

We are not ready for it.

A federal minister controls the army the way he wants not to talk of the Governor controlling the police.

That's will be chaotic.

There must be restructuring of the political process before state police comes up.

Nigeria is not a country where only what suits northern Nigeria can be done.

Southern Nigeria has been asking for political restructuring for years.

I hope this 8th senate would in this short time they have left, offer selfless service for the good of our country. I wish they make laws towards a one indivisible and prosperous Nigeria...

No to selective political restructuring.

For twenty years, the south has asked for extra states and local government areas, the north refused.

State police must come with equity in the distribution of states between the north and south regions.

The inequity in the number of states between north and south makes southern politicians near slaves to northern politicians in Nigeria's political process.

u are so ignorant to think a federal minister controls d army...d army is subjected to d president...more so d issue of gorveno controlling police is mere hallucinations...Wat we need is requisite laws to make our police functional like it is In America and UK... but then a thorough restructuring and proper federalism before we talk of state of police

Interesting,
11,000 males 22,000 widows 44,000 children
meaning, 1 man = 2 wives 1 widow = 2 children 1 male and 2 wives =4 children

Both State and Federal police should co-exist independently but with clear and marked areas of collaborations.

They should be properly trained, reasonably renumerated and given proper welfare to reduce bribery and corruption that has bedevilled them.

In this age of technology, they should go digital and try to prevent crime rather than react to crime.

Legislation should place controls to avoid excesses and hijack by executive.

It is doable. Let's give it a try.
