The fact that he lives in the US gives him a better insight, it is those that have not traveled that have not traveled that don't have better insight.

Some of the most shocking crimes in the world are committed in the US.
There are a lot of quiet neighborhoods in the US but for some others, your chance of being a victim of violent crime can be as high as 1 in 50.

Just walking down the street after watching basketball in the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland Ohio, a lady alerted us, if you take that path, you will get raped.

There is unrest in the Northeast and every reasonable person avoids that zone, but compare that with going to Walmart and a crazy driver runs across the crosswalks, killing everyone along it's path, or your child is being seduced by your neighbor, the target for children by pedophiles is really alarming. It has left many emotional scars.

There are more law enforcement officers in New York, New Jersey, Texas, California, Georgia and Florida combined than in Nigeria but the officers are still overwhelmed, and so there are still calls for more officers.

Nigeria cherish the US for it's economic potentials but that doesn't make it safer in other aspects, many live in fear. Pray it doesn't cross your path.
No it will never cross my path, I am safe and secure were l am than the shithole jungle, next news jare, this thread is becoming boring wink

Bro, the USA works a bit differently than Nigeria. Every crime/incidents in every city is recorded, even a missing cat. There is no mystery about DC ( i was there recently), all records are public. There are bad neighborhoods and good neighborhoods in every State and almost every city.
No confidentiality with crime records. All crimes ARE INVESTIGATED. There is consequence for crime in America

True in many ways the US works differently. Crimes being investigated has not led to reduction of crimes, there are calls for more law enforcement officers in almost every state.

That crimes are reported doesn't translate to it being resolved, a friend's child was kidnapped 4 years ago and he still hopes that some day, she will be seen. There are many more cases of such.

If you have visited the prisons before then you would know that "consequence for crime" doesn't deter prisoners. They leave jails to commit worse.

Talking about confidentiality, there are certain levels of security clearance that you need before you have access to data, even some companies deploy this. For you city, there are details that is not available in public domain. Even for your neighborhood, you may be shocked to know what has happened in the past.

I'm glad you have been to DC and happy that you had a nice experience. Avoid unsafe areas and be safe.

Did you see the story of the 4 year old who shot his little sister to death? Only in America. I've heard many cases of accidental deaths like that. We don't have that in Nigeria. Another one accidentally shot himself to death not long ago. When you combine all of these and the mass shootings, police shootings, gang wars, domestic shootings, you will realize this paradise is a dangerous place to be.

Well, the word safety is becoming relative. No doubt these things happen in the US, my point is a lot more happen in Nigeria but not reported. Ultimately, it is God that protects no matter how careful one is. The prayer is, may we not be found in the wrong place and at the wrong time. Calamity/premature death will not befall us or any of ours in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen

Crime has reduced bro. The murder rate has been decreasing drastically in the last 10 years.
Capture and conviction of crime ANYWHERE in the world always deters some would be criminals and thus reduces crime
Aside from suicide bombers, what criminal wants to be caught. Even suicide bombers sef dont want to be caught.

Thousands of ex jail birds leave prison and NEVER go back to crime.

Im not sure what area you keep saying is confidential; definitely tactics and strategies of the police will be kept secret. But crime rate IS NEVER kept secret. It is public record and unlike Nigeria can determine if a Mayor (Local government Chairman in Nigeria) or Governor will be re elected.
Also Attorney General's and County Sheriff's are elected here , unlike Nigeria. So if you don't perform, no job for you.

if you know the number of ritual killings that go on in Nigeria, you will be shocked
It's just unreported
that's the problem

And many of us because we lived in say Lagos /Abuja and a few other places prior to leaving think that the story of that enclave they stay is the story for the entire country

that is absolutely not the case

Zamfara is becoming a cemetery
The middle belt with fulani incursion is becoming a graveyard
boko haram is still killing
Policemen kill youths every day
SARS kill every day
Cultism clash and gangsters in the deep South
tanker pour fuel roast people
And the list is endless

right now, Nigeria AS A COUNTRY is very unsafe

Do you know how big a county is? Texas State alone is almost the size Nigeria. The State I am in right now is 86,000 sqm. Nigeria is 386, 000 sqm. A county contains dozens to hundreds of cities. There has not been 1 case of gun violence in the city i am in this weekend in over 10 years.
90% of all the gun violence in this State is domiciled within one area in the capital. Of the 23 murders last year in that city, all are being investigated and 18 have been solved.

Oga which one is a lie?
Size of Nigeria?
Murder rate in the city i am in?

Human beings. Are you also a dullard? Dont you have a phone in your hands or Laptop? Google is your friend. You can access any public record on the Internet. Its not Naija, when you don't even know how much your Local Government Chairman is using to feed himself.

I would have posted links for you, but I don't want to contribute to the overwhelming mental laziness of many Nigerians. That thing between your ears is called a brain, use it oga.
