Who would have thought that it would take 260 hours to paint a single car? Well, that’s how long it took these specialists to do up a custom ordered McLaren 720S Spyder for a client.

Posting the video on their YouTube channel, the auto racing company shared the one-of-a-kind painting, stating that the reason the job took so long was to make it stand out. Looking at the final result you can't help but agree that the time was well invested! The paint job was done by McLaren Special Operations, one of the auto firm’s internal divisions good at making specialized and customized car models for their customers, literally making their dreams come true.


The 720S Spyder which took 260 hours to paint is coated in vibrant deep blue. To get this beautiful color, the paint was created by mixing three colors, which are Cerulean Blue, Burton Blue, and Abyss Black, finally forming this new hue which McLaren called ‘Coriolis’.

McLaren special operations teams who worked together to create this work of art includes expert painters and artists. They created a painting style, which is reminiscent of a "fade effect" that imitates the movement of the car. McLaren is frequently in the news for Artsy car projects like the Lego-bricks car it made weeks ago.

This McLaren 720S Spyder does not just have stunning paint, it also has a powerful engine. The engine of the car is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 motor which gives out 710 bhp and 770 lbs of torque at full power. It can go as far as 200 kmph from standstill in just 7.9 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 341 kmph.



McLaren did not disclose the lucky customer for whom the car was carefully customized, but whoever the customer, he or she will be known for the turning heads that follow the car when it finally makes an appearance.
