West African countries Nigeria and Ghana plan to go into partnership in the fight against cybercrimes across the 2 countries, Ghanaian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Alhaji Rashid Bawa, revealed.

During a courtesy visit to the Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service in Cross River State, Mr Felix Uche, Bawa noted that the collaboration of Nigeria and Ghana in this fight will lead to its reduction, especially among the young population, News Agency of Nigeria reports.

He said

“As we speak, this matter is been discussed at the highest level. The Comptroller General of the Ghanaian Immigration Service and his counterpart in Nigeria had a fruitful discussion about this a month ago.

“Experts from Ghana and Nigeria will be meeting soon to come out with a road map to deal with some of these issues that are currently taking place.

“In the course of the discussion, it came out clearly that there are cartels that operate behind these cyber crimes and prostitution of our young ones.

“Ghana believes that with the collaboration, Nigerian Government and security services will help to unravel the root causes as the laws of each country will be applied to minimise crimes.”

How can they fight cyber crime without adequate database, it's like trying to shoot the bird on air , only those that hang on tree can be caught with gun. Yahoo start from the political leaders which need their house to be clean first and telling the corrupt police to fight the corrupt citizens handing them corrupt efcc and corrupt judges who now sentence those boys to just one month in prison in which you will see them even hanging around the town within a week or two, in name of bail out. Corrupt leaders can't fight corrupt masses

You can’t be treating symptoms without the root cause. No justification for crime here but the truth is! If you arrest them and send them to jail once they find their way out, they will still go back to the same thing for as long as the hardship keeps biting hard. Once we can fix ourselves as a nation this crimes will reduce drastically. As a matter of fact citizens will beging to expose them rather than applaud them. Arrest them all you care but please make effort to treat the root cause as well.

Stop defending fraudsters.
US, UK, Europe, China and Russia all have cybercriminals.
There will always be criminals, it is duty of the police to keep them in check.
