dangote to build refinery, Saudi arabia to build refinery. where is Nigerian government refinery?

If the government is to build refinery, it has to find the money

And it costs 10bn USD to build just one refinery. We need at least 4 of them.

Oil is very low...and is going lower...harsh effect on our revenues.

So we are left with foreign investment...or Nigeria takes another loan.

Why are they acting like their is no refinery in Nigeria? They can't make what we have to work dey are planning on building another. The problem of Nigeria infrastructure is adequate maintenance.

Saudi Arabia has hinted on the possibility of establishing a refinery in Nigeria.

Minister of Energy Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Khalid Al Falih dropped the hint during a meeting with Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu in Riyadh.

Kachikwu who affirmed the Saudi oil minister’s position said Nigeria was looking towards Saudi Arabia because of the country’s successes in the sector.
“We want to leverage on the huge success of Saudi government in terms of petroleum. Last year alone Saudi Aramco, an equivalent of NNPC made about $200 billion as profit.

“We have a lot of common ground, historical ties, and religious ties and there’s a need to move further. We cooperate a lot with one another in OPEC especially in the Ministry of Energy,” Kachikwu said.

He said Nigeria is already setting up a team to make the reasons for the visit a reality.

A statement from Nigeria’s oil ministry, Kachikwu had on Tuesday met with top executives of Saudi Aramco in Dhahran to crystallize ongoing discussions on collaborating with the Federal Government of Nigeria on investments in the oil and gas sector.

The minister was received by the President and Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Aramco, Amin H. Nasser and the top management of the conglomerate.

There is.

The problem is, NNPC is spending the money that they would have used to build refinery on subsidy.

NNPC cannot make a profit because maintianing the subsidy means that they buy fuel at N180, sell at N145, and cover their lossess with N35 per liter of PMS...which makes things worse.

That's why Atiku's idea of privatising NNPC plus removing subsidy would make NNPC profitable enough to build refineries. Just like the Saudi ARAMCO...which is a private company really.

Saudi ARAMCO is a private company and one of the big oil companies.

Saudi Aramco (Arabic: أرامكو السعودية‎ ʾArāmkō al-Saʿūdiyyah), officially the Saudi Arabian Oil Company, (formerly Arabian-American Oil Company), is a Saudi Arabian national petroleum and natural gas company based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.[4][5]

It is one of the largest companies in the world by revenue, and according to accounts seen by Bloomberg News, the most profitable company in the world.[6] Saudi Aramco has both the world's second-largest proven crude oil reserves, at more than 270 billion barrels (4.3×1010 m3),[7] and second-largest daily oil production.[8]

Saudi officials have backed an official figure of $2 trillion for Saudi Aramco's value. The company's financial data were leaked in April 2018, and according to Bloomberg's analysts the company could be valued at $1.2 trillion, a significantly lower sum.[9]

Saudi Aramco operates the world's largest single hydrocarbon network, the Master Gas System. Its 2013 crude oil production total was 3.4 billion barrels (540,000,000 m3), and it manages over one hundred oil and gas fields in Saudi Arabia, including 288.4 trillion standard cubic feet (scf) of natural gas reserves. Saudi Aramco operates the Ghawar Field, the world's largest onshore oil field, and the Safaniya Field, the world's largest offshore oil field.[10]

On 09 April 2019, Aramco has raised $12 billion of bonds[11]. Its first international bond issue has received more than $100 billion in orders from foreign investors which breaks all records for a bond issue by an emerging marketi

this is not a welcomed development, one thing is certain they would milk Nigeria oil resources via the establishment, on matters of employment 80 percent on skilled labour would be from Saudi, while 10 percent of skilled labour from NiG and the remaining 10 would be unskilled labour that they would surprise to severe Hazardous working conditions even the skilled labour from the country won't be left out

And moreover would they allow a Nigerian owned refinery in their country "NO" they won't and if they do 70 percent or so of the ownership would be theirs while the remaining 30 percent of the ownership would for that NiG investor

if you doubt me check for fact
This APC govt should realize that power won't last forever

Saudi ARAMCO is a big oil company that is valued at $1.2trillion .

Not a 'terror' company.

And you people don't complain when we do business with China...who persecutes religious people , Christians inclusive, or with any of the colonial powers who have committed crimes as well...or even the USA...who has also done it's share of violence over the decades...including sponsoring terror attacks.Or Russia...who has sposnored terror groups, and also done its own violence share.

Mind, I don't like Saudi either too.
