How long does it take to take stock of bad roads and get submission of company's bid . . . Prioritize the roads and work on them, excuses are tools for the incompetent

Nigerians and their way of jumping to conclusion. He's actually right when the situation is observed critically. You can't be able to do much under four years as the minister of works. He only specified WORKS. You don't expect roads to be built under 4yeara in the whole of Nigeria. Maybe a 6 yr tenure or something should be used, that way even if the person ends up doing nothing, the presidency can decide to replace such minister.

It doesn't even take up to 4yrs to make meaningful impacts, if you fail in little thing there's high probability you'll fail in bigger things. Just admit you've fail and we'll forgive you as usual. I know lawyers do not accept responsibility for their failures but you can swallow the humble pie.

is governance not continuous? if he is unable to complete a project the next minister will continue where he left off. it is not a must for him to finish all the projects he initiates.

So, if you applied for a vacant post in an organization, and was subsequently granted the job, are you required to continue the work of the previous occupant of the post, or start doing things your own way, which was a major reason for your being picked in the first place?
In Nigeria's politics and political sphere, I've not heard of a case whereby an incumbent holder of whatever political post continues the work of his predecessor. Everyone wants to be praised for carrying out their own project and not just doing a completion of someone else's project.

Good question!

Simple answer: Because he himself lacks knowledge! Anyone with simple knowledge will know that giving 3 main ministries to just one person will amount to underperformance!

yea if u are granted a job in an organization that is precisely what happens, which organization is going to allow u start doing things "your own way? " so if for example u are employed as an engineer in a firm to replace a previous engineer who was overseeing a project are u going to abandon the project the previous engineer was overseeing and star or own? which company will allow u do that?

For political appointments, I believe they're all based on the manifesto of the person involved. They appoint people based on what he/she has to offer, which is why noone wants to come and do nothing. It'll be tagged doing nothing when u come and can't commission a project of your own, but keep doing projects that others commissioned.

It's been so long, and I'm just seeing this, but if I was the engineering firm, I'd allow you do things the way you thought best. The previous holder left that post for a reason, and I don't wish you to trail such parts, so do better.
