A Nigerian, Mr. Kelechi Kaycee Madu, who was recently declared winner in a keenly contested election as Member of Parliament representing Edmonton South-West in Alberta, Canada, was on Tuesday (April 30) sworn in as the Minister of Municipal Affairs in Alberta Canada.
According to a statement released by Titus Alagba on behalf of Nigerians In Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Africa, while many Nigerians had been patiently waiting for Kaycee Madu’s official swearing in ceremony scheduled to hold on May 21, “news reached us on Sunday night that he has been appointed to serve as Minister of the third largest ministry in Alberta Canada with over $3.7 billion portfolio, and was today the 30th of April officially sworn in.
“In view of the above, this distinguished Nigerian will be serving in dual capacity as the Minister of Municipal Affairs of the Province of Alberta and at the same time a Member of Parliament representing his constituency of Edmonton South-West.
“This feat is the biggest position a black man has ever attained in the Land of Canada. The first black man to be named a Minister in Canada.”
Kaycee Madu hails from Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State and is a distinguished member of Mbaise Connect Global Initiative (MCGI).
A statement from the office of the National President of Mbaise Connect requests all members who may wish to be present at Kaycee Madu’s second swearing-in ceremony as a Member of Parliament in Canada to liaise with the leadership immediately.

If we must grow in this country, we must give a level playing ground for all to achieve their potential. We must allow the best to take hold of the affairs of the country .mediocres have made a mess of this country for too long.
