It is no longer news that JAMB, through its Director of Information had promised to release the 2019 UTME result held between 11th and 17th of April, 2019, this week. This has raised anxieties among candidates as well as parents over the fate of their wards as per their performance in the test. Having waited for over 48hours after the first day of the test and no result came, eyebrows were raised.

But JAMB had been assuring Nigerians that they will release the result as soon as they conclude vetting the CCTv video in order to ensure that everybody has a level playing ground while cheats will be arrested and penalized. This Nigerians took them for their words based on
the Board's antecedents.

Be that as it may, there are fears in some quarters that JAMB's database had been compromised or crashed and that JAMB was only buying time to see if it can fix the situation. This, they also quickly dismissed as not only false but also malicious campaign. It was at this juncture they gave the assurance that the result will be released this week.

As it stands, today is Friday, the last working day of the week and of course, the weekend has set in without any information from Mr. Fabian, JAMB's spokesperson. This has prompted me to ask, if they have gone the way of their sister agency, INEC. (You know better what the latter is best known for)
