Pension in Nigeria is a means of oppressing workers and still hanging unto their money after their retirement.. How can someone retire and U decide on his behalf to hold unto his savings and b giving him peanuts. Why not pay him off and den allow dem decide if dey want to still leave their monies with d govt

There should also be Governors' Pensioner Verification Exercise.
They, too, should gather at Abuja with their original certificates of return, their original WAEC certificates, bank account details, payslips with evidence of tax deduction.
They are also civil servants.

The truth must be said and that is : fully funded pensions will need to be augmented with cash from the governments.

I previously thought that the payouts to pensioners from fully funded pensions would be enough for them to live off.

As it is, it won't be enough. Government will have to augment payouts.

However, there are benefits.

One, the total weight of pension payouts would no more be carried 100% by the government. This will reduce government spending.

The private funds now being accumulated are a big source of long term capital for the country. This is a very positive development

I did my verification at TBS.

We were given take away rice with water. It took two hours to be verified.

Thank goodness it was in an AC room.

I don't know of other centres in Lagos grin grin
