El Rufai godfather statement plot to destabilise Yorubaland

The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nassir El Rufai is looking for ways to expand Fulani territorial ambition to cover Yoruba states, the Oodua Nationalist Coalition, (ONAC) has said. The ONAC statement was made available to Irohinooodua.
The group said statements credited to El Rufai urging Lagos residents to remove a political godfather were not borne out of love for the people of Lagos but rather as a plot to divide the South West States and subvert the leadership to become footnotes to the Fulani oligarchy.
The group said “ El Rufai cannot lecture Yoruba people on Godfatherism. He cannot come to play the role of a savior in Yorubaland. He represents one of the Fulani leaders craving to ensure the Yoruba people do not have a rallying point in time of peace or war. His statement was a cynical remark fueled by jealousy and shock that inspite of the Fulani leadership plots, the Yoruba people have remained largely united.”
ONAC said El Rufai who condemns godfatherism is himself the Godfather of Kaduna politics. “Without consultation he picked all the members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, all the councilors, the Deputy Governor and all the Senators and House of Reps members. His mission now is to extend this philosophy to other parts of Nigeria especially Yorubaland.”
ONAC said there was nothing wrong in having a godfather the most important thing being what the Godfather stands for. “Lagos has proved to be the best place to do business since 1999. Kaduna on the other hand in the past four years has become an axis of evil and one of the worst places to live on earth. Today, in Kaduna, under El Rufai, Christians and Muslims live in different quarters, all armed, waiting for the next round of crisis. El Rufai, the divisive character instead of finding a solution to the crisis has rather compounded the situation. Today, Kaduna is the Afghanistan of Nigeria. The people of Lagos do not need such a derisive and irresponsible godfather like El Rufai.”
ONAC said El Rufai is uncharitable and lacks a any moral ground on which to speak. “We cannot imagine someone from Lagos going to Kaduna boasting that the Kaduna godfather be removed or that the people should rise up against their leaders.
“We are aware El Rufai and his group made frantic efforts to impose stooges on all the South West states as governors. El Rufai wanted to control the South West. If the people should not look up to Lagos or Ibadan for their salvation, the solution does not lie in looking up to a fanatic and bigot in far away Kaduna. If there is any Godfather in Yorubaland, the people should be left alone to deal with their own situation. The salvation of the people if any does not lay in the hands of rash, unstable, irrational and unethical people like El Rufai.” ONAC urges Yoruba people to be wary of enemies pretending as saviours saying that the end goal of El Rufai’s plot is to subvert, manipulate and exterminate the political solidarity and unity among the Yoruba people.

Lagos is richer than 30 states put together. Lagos is not owing salaries. There is peace and growth in Lagos. We are proud of the godfather that laid this foundation. Lagos for the first time even produced a governor that did not insist on second term after losing the primary despite being funded to cause chaos by people like El Rufai. Kaduna on the other hand in the past four years has become an axis of evil and one of the worst places to live on earth.
