Investing in Nigeria, creating jobs and infusing money and IGR into the local economy is colonization?

And you people will turn around and say your country is worthless because they don't have world class facilities like other country or that your government is worthless because they are not creating jobs?

It's not by force to comment.

I don't think the govt should approve this, there should be a way to stop it, 1000ha for what? What are they building, what is the size of the city itself?

US Embassy buys 50,000 sqm from Eko Atlantic city

Eko Atlantic City is not a common place for plots but a haven for the super-rich and corporate bigwigs.

The Nation checks revealed that current land prices in this exclusive enclave are now U$1,800 per square meter for inner city plots while plots located along the road and waterfront are significantly higher at US$2,500 per square meter and US$3,000 per square meter respectively.

The latest entry into the exclusive enclave is the United States of America Embassy in Lagos that acquired 50,000 square meters from the Developer, Messrs South Energyx Nigeria Limited.

At the signing ceremony on Tuesday, the U.S Consul General F. John Bray said Eko Atlantic City was selected for its world-class infrastructure and other important features.

He said the purchase is a 200 year lease which demonstrates their belief in Nigeria and her people and a signal of a long time commitment.

Though he declined to give the asking price but a rough calculation of 50,000 square meters at $3,000.00 comes to about $1.5 million

1. It's a private property, not government land.

2. Its's not 1000 hectares according to the report, it's actually 5 hectares.

1. I know, but govt can intervene in public interest, 1000ha is not a good idea for a foreign nation to occupy in your territory.
2. Thanks for the clarification. It's the news that's misleading. Thanks.

That won’t still stop Nigerians from applying.

Using Nigerians money at the expenses of bad leadership in our country.

Keep enjoying it.

These people have business strategy, they know that Eko Atlantic is more attractive than where they are presently, this will now bring more customers (applicant).

They know people wants to have a view of how the Eko Atlantic look like.

God will punish all our former and present leaders.

How is it a game changer? Of what benefit? Is stealing money from Nigerians ie taking their money, refusing them visas and not refunding a benefit? Because I assume the funds used to procure the land is from stolen visa fees.

If you want a consulate that is more accessible to Nigerians, why not relocate to the Lagos mainland?

They meant it's now more accessible to the elites.

Thank you sire. The Amerikan bastards have always been known by the entire world (including her allies in NATO e.g Turkey, France & Germany) as snakes who strike like cobras.

What Amerika says and does are two different things. They say one thing and do another thing entirely.

It reminds me of the number of times they fvcked up Vladimirovich Putin & Mother Russia in Syria. grin

Mother Russia even stabbed friendly countries in the back in futile attempts to try to curry favour with the Amerikan bastards.

Russia did this and got absolutely nothing in return except a kick in the teeth.

Russia facilitated sanctions against Iran on trumped-up nuclear charges just to appease these Amerikan & Zionist bastards. Even though she (Russia) admitted these were lies, but did so anyway.

Russia did this in return for worthless Amerikan promises that were never ever kept, not to place missile bases on the Russian borders - and poor Iranian children died as a result.

Mother Russia even supported the Amerikan economic strangulation of DPRK (North Korea) just to please these Amerikan bastards - but what did she get in return? Nothing!

In Syria, Russia accepted useless Amerikan promises that, “If you call off your offensive in Syria, this time we really, really, really, really will bring our proxy pet terrorists under control.” grin

Guess what the Amerikan bastards did? grin

They lied to the world that they're pulling out of Syria, only for Trump to double the Amerikan troops in Syria. grin

I will not hold this against Mother Russia since she is the only Country that can deliver us from the shackles of Amerikan terrorism, propaganda & colonization. grin

Now, back to the topic. In case you want to say hello to this bastard Amerikan Ambassador (John Bray), his direct, confirmed & verified email address is: "brayfj@state.gov"

You can google it if you don't believe me. Good night! grin

Security risk. If you have enemies all over the world you’ll always want to be in an area where you can fully protect yourself.

1000 what? Lies from the pit of hell
Where is the 6000 plots of land ?

It's even more than 6000 plots. It's hectares not acres. An acre is 6plots.But hectares is 2.5 acres. So far more than 7000 plots.Where do you get that in any part of Lagos except on sea or sandfilled lagoon.
If 6plots make 1acre and 2.5 acres make an hectare,it than means that 6*2.5=18.So 18plots make 1 hectare.
So 1000hectare=18,000 plots in Lagos Atlantic City. It's okay.

Man calm down, where is Eko Atlantic city located ? Lebanon or Nigeria ? I won't argue with you, they see themselves more of Nigerian than Lebanese ..Read about them.

They make money in Nigeria , they invest it back in Nigeria ..a lot of their companies employ Nigerians maybe few Lebanese ...They contribute a lot to our GDP...I can't point out any companies Julius Berger has established in Nigeria, But you can't say that of these guys... Be more logic Bro, not everything is colonization ... Most big firms in Dubai are owned by Indians , is that any form of colonization ?
