|Did GOD Say His Love Is Unconditional? by charlsecy(m): 12:55pm On May 26, 2019|
I asked my friends on WhatsApp to give me a classical example of unconditional love in real life and justify why it's unconditional.
Most of them cited GOD's Love as unconditional love.
Let me think a little to know whether GOD Himself says His Love is Unconditional:
*takes a deep breath*
From a Christian perspective, I searched through the Bible to know whether the Bible actually says GOD's Love is unconditional. Remember we defined unconditional love as a love nothing can tear apart, and the recipient continues to receive the love no matter what.
What I found in the Bible concerning GOD's Love;
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's One and only Son. John 3:16, 18 (NIV)
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 (KJV)
If divine love was unconditional, why is it recorded that sinners would be destroyed? The answer is simple. They miss GOD's Eternal Love because they fail to meet GOD's conditions for His continued Love in the Hereafter. They're disobedient to the Word and lose out.
Go read the Lord's Covenant with Israel in the land of Moab in Deuteronomy 29.
Clearly, GOD's Love is open and sacrificial, but to enjoy this Love here and in the hereafter requires some conditions. Read the Biblical verses I submitted to see the conditions.
People are mistaking selfless [or sacrificial] love which exists for unconditional love which doesn't exist anywhere. Yes... I think some people mistake the two... Perhaps they don't really know what "without a condition" means.
A love is selfless when there is a risk of, or actual loss to the giver. But there are always reasons why the giver goes the extra mile, which make it conditional.
A mother who chose to take a bullet meant for her only son demonstrated selfless love.... but would you say her love is unconditional? Would she do the same for a total stranger? If no, why?
There is nothing wrong with love having worthy and valuable conditions for that is its very nature.
Being conditional doesn't make love any less beautiful.
Love is true and beautiful.

God loves you so much he decides to burn you forever for disobedience.
The Christian view of what love should be has been greatly warped.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, UNCONDITIONALLY. "BUT" IF YOU DON'T LOVE ME BACK, I'LL BURN YOU FOR ETERNITY FOR YOUR MISTAKES.
