Matt King's team at Facebook is working to keep disturbing images off of the world's largest social media platform. There's just one catch: King is blind. As CNBC reports, his team of engineers is using artificial intelligence to "see" and understand images and the context they appear in.

That technology has been used to make Facebook and the 2 billion photos that are shared on the platform each day accessible to blind users. recognition technology, a form of artificial intelligence, can recognize what’s in a picture and generate a description for people who use a screen reader.
