The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors' Forum, has saluted the recently chosen authority of the ninth National Assembly. Executive of the Forum and Bayelsa Governor, Seriake Dickson, in an announcement by his Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Daniel Alabrah, on Wednesday, encouraged the new NASS authority to ensure the autonomy of the lawmaking body as per vote based ethos.

On Tuesday, Ahmed Lawan developed as Senate President and Ovie Omo-Agege as Deputy Senate President. Femi Gbajabiamila was chosen as Speaker of House of Representatives and Ahmed Wase as Deputy Speaker. Dickson stated: "for the benefit of the PDP governors, I praise the new authority of the National Assembly. "I encourage them to endeavor to shield the autonomy of the governing body and to ensure the privileges of Nigerians.

"On the off chance that the autonomy of the lawmaking body is lost, at that point, our big government would have lost all importance. "The administrators should look to secure the two chambers just as the privileges of Nigerians. "They have to secure the Nigerian individuals against all types of intervention and misuses," he said.
