In Over 100 Years No Black Scientist Has Won A Nobel Prize; Why? by Amujale(m): 3:28pm On Jun 24, 2019
Many in the scientific world are celebrating, and rightfuly so, the fact that two women received last year's Nobel prizes in physics and chemistry. Donna Strickland and Frances Arnold are only the 20th and 21st female scientists to be recognised by the Nobel Committee.

Yet a hundred years has passed, and we have never seen a black scientist become a Nobel laureate.

Of the 900 Nobel laureates, only 14 (1.5%) are blacksic and none in science.

Almost all our laureates have been awarded for work in the fields of peace (ten) and literature (three).

The only candidate to have come close enough was Arthur Lewis for his work in economics in 1973.

The main reason used to be based around discrimination and injustice, i.e

Lewis Latimer invented the Telephone and the Light Bulb yet both inventions are currently being awarded to Graham Bell and Thomas Edison respectively.

Graham Bell was an inferior scientist to Lewis, yet due to the laws at the time, was able to take most of the credit.

If you ask anyone, who invented the Telephone?

They will say Alexander Graham Bell.
Yet thats completely wrong for various reasons.

Firstly, according to records, Graham Bell and Lewis Latimer co-invented the Telephone.

Furthermore, Lewis Latimer actually invented the Telephone, Graham was merely an influential bystander that was awarded most of the credit for other peoples inventions.

Infact, Graham isnt even a real inventor, since he clearly never invented anything of known importance; instead he built his entire career feeding off African American scientist's intellectual property.

Such level of discriminatiom kept on for years without end; some will argue that these type of puzzles remain unsolved 'till this day.

As in, our some what limited opportunities in the world of today coupled with institutional bias wont allow for those living in the Western countries to study science, and even those that does, and happen to excell towards greater heights arent publicised and as such tend to experience the same discrimination exposed to Lewis and others.

Mention 10 of them. Black's do not make sense without white contribution. Nothing of global appreciation has ever come from the black race. I doubt the claim of the OP. Our own Emagwuali being celebrated a couple of years ago turned out to be a scam . Let us be receiving Nobel prize for peace . Apart from Arabs and Islamic world, black communities have won prizes in violence, insecurity and abject poverty. Don't defend mediocrity. Why are not Israelis, Chinese, German.... not discriminated? If you are excellent nothing can discriminate you. Blacks hate excellence, this shows all over Africa the cradle of all African descent. Please don't start e - war o dear reader. Let this observation stir up something good in you.p

You are completely and utterly wrong.

Apart from the fact that science originates from Africa,
in the modern age, there are more African inventors than there are European and Asian combined.

Africans are ultimately responsible for most inventions, mostly, Asians and European academics often are found to have taken or been givven undeserved credit for African intellect.

Its important to note that today is better than yesterday, yet there definately is room for improvement with regards to giving Africans their due credit for their intellectual property at all times; everytime.

Africans invented (c) the speed of light, hundred and thousands of years before Einstein.

Africans discovered the presence of Sirus B star system hundred and thousands of years before N.A.S.A.

Are there any Egyptians or Arabs in the list above?

Furthermore, ancient Egyptians are blacksic African not Arabs.

You find it hard to accept the fact that you have gotten it completely and utterly wrong.

Anyone that takes the care to read the thread would never conclude that the names of the numerous black scientist available here are in any way shape or form connected to Arabia.

op God bless you for bringing this up. Is time for Africa to wake up, Look at our educational system, no achievements of black scientists is recorded.it is always the whites and their achievements. I did this research myself and found at that all the nobel prizes in stem were awarded to only europeans, few chinese and americans. The record breaking inventions of black scientists are no where to be found even after their work has received several citations and patents. Very sad development. Lalastica.

self hatred. Have you lived in the western world for more than a year before? If you do, you would never open your gutter mouth and spew this nonsense. It is people like you that would make an ordinary beggar in UK to look down on a black man because he is white. Black people are working very hard despite harsh conditions to churn out great stuff. The only problem we have in Africa is bad leaders thats who are just like you self hatred, inferior thinking that the whiteman is more superior than them.

I praise all our reknowned scientist for taking their careers to the 'next level' despite adversity.

Always think back everytime you make use of your cell phone that a black man invents the first phone and a black woman enhanced the modern version with inventing Caller ID, Call waiting and the portable fax.

Kindly go and study more on Africans in the U.S.A and tbeir over 100,000 inventions. Some correctly had their names documented correctly, however, due to the draconian laws at the time, most AA inventors had work(s) credited to someone else.

Their is a list of some of the black scientist that are credited with their inventions somewhere above, kindly read and study as many of them as you can.
