Northwest China's Qinghai Province completed a 15-day all clean energy power supply trial, setting a new record following a successful nine-day trial last year, the State Grid Qinghai Electric Power Company announced on Monday.

Nearly 6 million people in the province, which borders Tibet Autonomous Region, only used electricity generated from wind, solar and hydro power stations, from June 6 to 23.

During the 15 days, Qinghai achieved zero carbon emission in power use. This is the third province-wide clean energy trial in Qinghai. It relied solely on renewable energy for nine and seven consecutive days in 2018 and 2017.

Qinghai is the source of China's three major rivers, the Yellow, Yangtze and Lancang, and has strong hydro and solar-power facilities.

Qi Taiyuan, general manager of the company, said Qinghai's electric grid has been expanded this year, with an installed capacity of 2.4 million kilowatts, up 50 percent from last year's trial.



Qinghai's installed capacity of new energy has reached 13.9 million kw, accounting for 46.7 percent, surpassing hydropower as the province's largest power source.

If you have really been to China, you may not be as amazed as you are online. Japan is doing so many innovations with much more sustainability and durability but you hardly hear them make noise about them.

Japan is a developed country while China is still considered a developing country (I call it 'a developing developed country'). Most of innovations China is now doing has been done by Japan years back. So much loud ovation is given to China whenever anything groundbreaking is done there because China is showing the world that with conscientious planning almost anything can be achieved. Give them credit. Funny how back in the early 80s Nigeria, India, Singapore and China were rated on the same scale. Where's Nigeria today?

there was an enabling condition for China to have accomplished theirs. an enabling condition could come inform of willingness by the leaders to support the course.

everyone in Nigeria wanna even survive. I don't wana go into stuffs you and I already know will undermine any one trying to render service or thinking towards logics and the rest. it is possible but the time has not come.
