Ambassador Kyle McCarter posted a selfie with two Kenyan chess kid champions as he tries to egg them on after they were refused visas to the United States for the purpose of competing in a Chess championship.

Most especially, his reply has raised alot of eye brows across Africa, after his particular reply gaven to the reason why they were prevented from going to compete sounded a little off.

The kids were only going to compete for a competition for crying out loud, if this is not a enough reason for a visa to be granted l don't know what will.

It could be that they came from a poor background. Remember the Ghanaian girl who absconded immediately she got to France. It's gonna be hard for people who are poor or from poor families to get visas to developed western countries now.

Hmmm...and the irony of it is that most of the people who overstay their legal presence in the US are the applicants from rich backgrounds who were given the visas.

I doubt. It's mostly people from poor or average backgrounds who abuse and overstay their visas. Those from rich homes go to this countries like it's nothing. They have been visiting right from childhood. This rich kids even in Nigeria live in a bubble. imagine living in banana island having all your business in banana island and then going to Europe and USA for holidays. This guys do not know the true picture of Nigeria. Some of them have never ever crossed third mainland bridge except maybe when they are going to the airport .

I read the guys tweets and he indirectly pointed to the kind of background they come from as reason for the refusal of visa for them. I bet that the children are from poor or average backgrounds.

Why don't you give them the opportunity to win your kids on chess? I know they're not going there to hustle
