You are referring to Cornelius. The bible described him and his household as

Act 10:2
He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.

I can relate with u on this, when I first surrendered my life to Christ it was alot more easier for me to give up sexual immorality than music with explicit n immoral content.

As a lover of poetry n music I grew up listening to hardcore rap music, it was a time when hip hop music was very popular with hardcore rappers (mid 90s to early 2000s), I wanted to become a rap artist n I was really good @ it but I noticed that the content n everything about it wasn't edifying my spirit.

God delivered me, He gave me grace, imagine I had to destroy all the Nas collection I had; from Illmatic to Stillmatic (about 12-14 albums), till date d love n hunger for unedifying literature died.

A good one, remember Holiness is in levels

This is d kind of messages that shud be coming from the pastors and nt only prosperity messages which promote greed and selfishness in the society

Apostle Paul said...." I keep my body under, so that after I have preached, I will not be a cast away"

He keeps his body under......else, he is cast away.


Most preachers look at the gifts of God in their lives and feel they have arrived. It's just a gift.

You still need to keep your body under so that you will not be cast away while others are saved.

Ahh....the love for literature died? You are lucky. I love music and literature just like you used to. I became addicted to books and songs from young age. Well, I do believe we have artistes who are ''clean'', if you know what I mean? They may be very few tho. If you can recall the likes of Ras Kimono, etc, or West life, Backstreet boys, those guys did clean music. However it's better to dump your passions if you feel you may not be able to handle it the way God wants. You can go into gospel anyways.
