Dear Seasoned and Aspiring entrepreneurs, lawsuit isn’t necessarily a means to end every dispute or other business related issues. You’d be amazed by what a bottle of beer and a plate of pepper soup or assorted meat can do in making up. LEGAL ISN’T EXPEDIENT.

Do not discuss legal plan or action openly. The best thing to do before/during litigation is to work quietly with your legal team. Don’t brag about suing the other party (Conversely, do not ignorantly manipulate the other party by saying ‘Go to court’ ‘file charges’ on something you can easily settle amicably by accepting ones fault. Real estate agent exhibit such foolishness and illogicality) Entrepreneurs take note.

If a client calls you names, focus on making up or listen attentively instead. Don’t be cantankerous, just try to tolerate them for sometime, because there manner of approach may likely not add up at the end.
Choose to settle some issues amicably, laugh away, even if you have something to prove. The truth is you can politely throw a jibe when the client is in good spirit.
(Do not hesitate to report any form of assault to your management or lawyer or law enforcement agency)

If a client complains or alleges (let say via Email or Hotline) a manufacturing company of selling a defective product, a serious organization wouldn’t turn blind eye to such allegation, they would find a way to compensate the complainant to avoid lawsuit. Because at the end, the company’s brand and product suffers not the unhappy customer/complainant.

Many people don’t know that majority of Dangote’s trucks are not directly owned by DG, although Dangote Group has logistics and transport arm that oversee every consignment activities but when a truck with Dangote Group name boldly written on it carelessly hits someone, people drag and sue Dangote’s brand not the driver or contractor. In USA, Walmart suffered a lot from this mishap and still suffering.

It takes many years to put up a structure/business, while it takes few minutes to dissolve/destroy it. So save this post and give it a thought whenever you want to take that legal decision/action.
