Are you advocating for the abolition of justice altogether? How can a proven fraudulent judge who has lied under oath be your state chief judge simply because she is a Christian? Does Christianity support lies and fraud?

If this was an isolated incident, I would have no reason to hold my views. It has become a pattern too frequent to disregard. How come they never see anything wrong in the credentials of muslims or their own appointees?

Honourable Justice Elizabeth Asabe Karatu of the Kebbi State High Court gets humiliated and blocked on her last day from delivery a judgement. Gistvic Reports.

We could recall, Governor Atiku Bagudu’s refused to confirm Honourable Justice Karatu as substantive chief judge of the state because:

1. Alteration of date of birth from 9 May 1952 to 9 May 1954;
2. Alteration of date of issue of the Certificate from 12 January 1966 to 12 January 1967; and
3. Alteration of the year of completion of primary school from 1966 to 1967.

And also, the house found that the Declaration of Age presented to the House by Justice Karatu contained a different date from the conflicting dates contained on the Primary School Leaving Certificate.

We could also recall, Elizabeth Karatu accused Atiku Bagudu, the governor, of refusing to confirm her as substantive judge because of her religious affiliation.

Honourable Justice Karatu was stopped by security men as she tried to enter the premises on her last day.

She was heard saying:

I think the judicial arm should unite itself. Judges are against judges. One is waiting to take over the position of the other at the slightest opportunity. Money rules the land as politicians use money to buy their way.

If there is some form of unity among them the threat constantly posed by the executive arm can be defeated. How can a governor, elected to serve maximum of 8 years, with his position and pen, rubbish the career of a judge overnight? The same governor when he leaves power and is arrested by the EFCC will look to the judges for favorable judgement? This country sef.

That is not for the assembly to decide. It's for NJC to decide.

The House has a right to screen her, and if they find inconsistencies in her records, they also have the right to deny her confirmation based on that.

The House is not a rubber stamp zombie. They have a constitutional role to play in the appointment of a Chief justice in the state.

Wrong again, forgery is a criminal offence not a civil misdemeanor the house can utilize against an appointment. The right thing for the house to do is to report the judge to the NJC.

Their is a proper procedure to be followed, the house is simply resorting to self-help.

Forgery or alleged forgery. Does the house have the power to punish forgery?
Does the house have the power to determine forgery?

Islam and Christians are big problem in this country. They should be ban from this land. An Ifa worshipers cannot hate on an Amadihoha worshipers nor hate Ori Idowo worshipers. But those two alien religion are nothing but occultic group which is unknown to many of it's members.

Self help? I repeat that the House is not a rubber stamp body and does not have prosecutorial powers.

Nothing concerns the House with the NJC. The House does not report to the NJC.

The NJC recommended the Judge to the Governor and not to the House.

The governor, based on constitutional provisions sent the nominee to the House for confirmation.

The House during screening found her unsuitable, due to inconsistencies in her records. Nothing concerns the House with NJC I repeat.

All they needed to do and which they have done is to send her back to the governor that nominated her that they have found her unsuitable due to the following reasons.

It is the governor's duty to inform the NJC and further recommend her for criminal prosecution.

The NJC has the duty of recommending another judge to the governor based on their own findings if it aligns with that of the House.

Personally, I feel the current political dispensation is giving too much power to the NJC by allowing the NJC to be recommending only one person for a position.

It is counter productive and will not always throwup the best hands. They should always recommend minimum of 3 persons from the bar and bench.

You have only heard one side of the story which is not even backs by visible evidence. If their claims are true they would have forwarded her case to the NJC.

Same Kebi state had a Christian as CJ before Karatu.

So Karatu issue is not due to religion.

The House has exercised its power to reject her nomination due to stated reasons and the governor has asked NJC to nominate new judge for the post. Chikena.

How many times do you think the NJC recommended her?

The forgery allegations were baseless, that's why the NJC recommended for CJ more than once.

The house has the power to recommend that the acting CJ be investigated by the appropriate agency they are not a rubber stamp agency waiting for the governor.

The NJC is not a rubber stamp of the house, their findings do not allign.

Judges are held under high legal and moral standing compared to ordinary citizens; ordinarily after such fraudulent findings against her she should have been prosecuted forthwith; but instead is being let off the hook while still making trouble for her employers - playing the religious card to cover up her gross misconduct.
