Why not ask for social justice and equity and the rule of law that will bring about the kind of advancement and prosperity to nulify their ideology and cut off the ready supply of willing hands to their cause.

Exactly. I shudder to think of a society traumatised by this savage blood letting. That is a viscious cycle of endless revenge loading if those perpetuators are not caught and brought to justice and I mean a justice that will enable the victims look their adversities in the eye before a judge and across a prison cage. That is the only way to bring closure and break the cycle. If not the victims today are bound to be and do much worse tomorrow.

You should read the tafsir of both verses. This is how you people mislead others. Qur'an 9 vs 29 is only applicable in a Shari'a state. It states to fight against Kafirs including Christians and Jews in order to enforce Jizyah and prevent them from being dominant in a Sharia setting. It is not applicable to a secular setting. It was revealed when the Jews in Madinah refused paying Jizyah to the Islamic government and wanted to be excluded from the laws governing the Muslim ummah.

I will advise you to get a Tafsir of the Qur'an if you are really interested in understanding it's meaning and relevance.
