Whats the noise about? When ppl tell us d truth we always get angry. Its not only foreign based ashawo we hold in high esteem in naija but also foreign based drug barons who after hitting it in south africa or malaysia come back to naija to show off while we celebrate them. If we dont celebrate then why is it many of them end up with cheiftaincy titles from their villages. Abeg we nigerians we too worship money abeg.

Are they wrong?

Nigerians respect anyone as long as they are wealthy.

It doesn't matter how they got the money.

Even boko abbo, the HIV distributor will still be respected if he infects half of the entire population as long as he is still a senator.

Anyone thinks prostitutes are respected in Nigeria if they are wealthy is either not a Nigerian or they are wilfully idotic. Till today, if you’re a black woman in Nigeria married to a white man, people raise up their noses at you in scorn or derision behind your back but smile politely in your company. This is because, in the early days, the majority of black women seen in the company of white expatriates were prostitutes. Thereafter this stigmatised interracial relationships in Nigeria, especially black women white men. This sentiment endures till today. I know some imperceptive fellow is going to think that Nigerians fawn over white people and so therefore will respect a prostitute living with a white man. However, if they are perceptive, they’ll know that Nigerians fawn over foreigners, black or white.

It is in Ghana that prostitution does not carry as much stigma. I recall that there was a riot in Nigeria and some people lost lives simply because some wanted to host miss world competition. Prostitution is a major, NO in Nigeria. In Europe, in order to encourage the young to educate themselves, the young are threatened destitution. In Nigeria you are threatened with ending up as a prostitute. It is our major bogyman threat.

It's the basic truth, when I comments that Nigerians love bad than good many call for my head, now the international communities have seen it and telling it to our face.
And I still maintain that governments lapses can not wholly makes to be what you don't want to be.You're the owner of yourself and you can use yourself as you want.Yes,what if government can't give you job...You can give yourself job.Respectable job that give you prestige.
Those who chose to engage in dirty means of living deliberately chose to,even if you put them in the Whitehouse, they'll still live dirty.

Nigeria is an easy target because we have many internal enemies, with loud voices and long reach that readily welcome negative news aimed at Nigeria. They take ownership of these stigmas on our behalf. Some none-Nigerian Africans working in media abroad play a huge role in spreading negative and false information about Nigeria to their white peers. These white journalists and media people take on trust what these African journalists tell them, believing that they would know since they are Affiance. Nigeria needs to fight theses things. Good Luck Jonathan was smart and farseeing to create that quango whose remit it was to monitor and fight for Nigeria’s image. I forgot what it was called; anyhow, at the time people mocked it.

Don't mind those silly clowns. angry Many of them don't realise that the countries whose citizens are insulting and demeaning you, have people who do far worse things.

Escort agencies, prostitutes, porn stars, strippers and those who offer transactional sex are quite common in the UK. Do you know how many of their pimps and call girls, live a high class lifestyle and many don't know? sad Where do you find the greatest sex tourists?

Instead of solving their own issues, they turn round to accuse Naija people of the very same things their own folks are guilty of doing. Abeg, make dat their Home Office go siddon for backyard. undecided

Anyone that can do it successfully should be respected.

Your sisters and brothers are also armed-robbers, Fulani herdsmen, ritualists, kidnappers, 419 Yahooists, and polithievians-prostitutes are respected and celebrated in Nigeria right? Prostitution in or out of Nigeria is way better than being kidnappers, ritualists or armed robbers.

Prostitution does not have victims o.

Absolutely true. The prositutes come back to Nigeria trying to launder their image. They don’t do this quietly though because they seem to crave attention. They act like they’ve always had money and try to oppress the hardworking ladies they meet here in Nigeria. Some of them come with lesbiansm and they look for innocent or greedy girls to partner with. I know of one who sleeps with her maid. Now, she can’t sack her.

I wonder what Trump would have to say about this because he is also a wealthy prostitute public servant like those in Nigeria after going to the UK and other far reign countries, only to come back to discover they have become a celebrity, people are dying to touch and get under their skin and pound them, not only so, if you are closely related to these people, then you are also targeted by the celebrating mob.
