I think the death rate in Nigeria is higher than the birth rate hence the decline in our population. Consider the boko haram killing, herdsmen killing, suicide, poverty etc. |

theenchanter: Nigeria is one of the youngest countries in the world, almost half are under 18 so it makes sense. That's what's scary though, our population is still to explode. 1 Like |

edunwablog:useless country death and birth aren't recorded... Everyone forges birth certificates... Villages and rural areas are completely alienated during census, there are communities dispersed but under our territory... Nigeria is too big... Even the so-called well read knows this but no brain capacity to do the needful... We are over 250 million... I grew up in Nigeria and I know the useless census is a flaw.. |

Racoon: The rate of population growth is known. This and the population number of 2006 is used to estimate population increase per annum, which is then added cumulatively for each year to the 2016 population number. 1 Like |

ajl:if I go with ur assertion, kindly prove that we've added 60m to our population since 2006 if... . Our birth rate is 3% . Death rate is 12/1000 How did we arrived at 198m in 2018 when we had an overbloated figure of 140m in 2006 considering this two stats. |

The same reason why I don't believe that statistics of unemployment, poverty death, birth etc is why I can't believe NPC. A country without data base can mess with figure even more confusing than Peter Obi. |
