I think they should have put Forest Scout, Enforcement Merchants and Vigilante with Locally made Guns in place before announcing.

Announcement don't get things done. Action does.

Remember Fayose, the action man. He armed his local vigilante and throughout his tenure, Fulani trouble makers didn't try sh*t.
No you are wrong bro. If you are doing it out of love you should anounce it for them to be aware first.

And recently, a LG in Enugu started shouting that Fulani are shooting sporadically and have taken over their region?

Stop talking and start doing. Noise making and Chest Beating is gross foolishness for any body called Man.

Which local government abeg? Do you think Enugu is Ilorin?

Infact, open grazing should be banned totally across the east. Now this is what to do if they encroach on your ancestral lands:

1) Buy garmaline(the chemical used in embalming dead people locally), spread it on the path to which they move the cows. Go home and wait for sometime, you'll hear the amazing result. This chemical is extremely cheap and that of #200 will do wonders.

2) If you can't have access to garmaline, mixed local snuff with water, spread on the path inwhich they move the cows, go home and hear the wonders

Master stroke!!!

An eye for an eye

It is a good idea but unfortunately unenforceable.

If indeed this is the position of the South East governors, the least they can do is give it some legislative cover by passing it as law through our State House of Assemblies. As it is now, they can't even direct the Nigerian Police to enforce this. I'm not sure any Task Force has been set-up to monitor let alone enforce.

Unless there are other enforceable laws which governs that type of activity i.e. moving cattle on foot, other than that this is playing to the gallery.

My brother you said it all. the only thing they enforce is to correct all manners of levy from shops and roads. but they can't form central vigilante to take care of entire Igbo land, and enforce laws banning open grazing and movement of cattle's. check it well Anamabra state governors can't never attend south East governors meeting neither did he sign the ban. those that claim owners ship of Igbo land are now hidden waiting for those they call efulufu to go and fight for them while they the owners will go at back to take praise.

This won't have been possible if okorocha or his son-inlaw was among them. And I doubt if UMAHI was in that meeting when this decision was taken.
.
That's why you need to do away with certain people if you want to succeed in life.

I concur, it is also time for the governors in the north to ban all goods coming from the SE by air and land too. Two can play that game
The summary here is don't destroy someone else investment in the name of growing yours.

If they can see this through, some of us will move down south. Agric pays but the fulanis are bent on impoverishing everybody. What kind of people are they?

The only place Fulani has taken over is Ilorin and so shall it be till eternity.
You can come on Nairaland and beat your dry chest but we all know how Fulani took over Ilorin and massacred your coward King.

See, leaders of every region issued press release from day one when this thing blew open....which is 7 days or a little over now. Ruga aside, those regions have other important things to attend to in their own internal affairs. In SE, leaders have issued a daily statement on this ruga, sometimes two press releases a day.

MASSOB, BYL, OIC, IPOB, Ohanaeze, Ohanaeze Youth, Ohanaeze Women, Ohanaeze Elders, Igbo Elders, CAN SE, Catholic SE, WIC, BIN, We the "SS/SE" Coalition, .....

Na only una waka come? grin

Must you eat nama(cow meat)?
Ban the entry of cattle, period.
This way, they have no business or presence in the region. Destroy all existing abattoirs. And make it a punishable crime to sell, buy, or eat nama anywhere within the region.

Eat chicken, Turkey, goat, pork, better choices anyway.

Quit pussy-footing.
Overcome FEAR.

Cheers.

The problem with you guys is Noisemaking and Chest Beating. Just recently, a whole local government in Enugu shouted out that Fulani have taken over a place in their domain.

Yet you're here making immature comparism and threat.
The problem with people like u is that u know nothing. Abeg where are u from to refer people that fought a war for 3 good years chest beaters. Abeg where are u from? Na thunder go fire u if u be Yoruba and still be calling Igbo people chest beaters. What u don't know is without these people u call chest beaters, these northerners will bend u to any direction they like. It is mainly Igbos whom this people are even afraid of because they know if things go south with Igbo, it will lead to a serious chaos such as inter tribal war. Tell me where u came from and tell me how ur people can withstand the antics of this Fulanis

They can use local vigilantes to enforce executive order.
