They got kickbacks from oil deals they supervised, which is still 1,000 times better than those that steal outright from government purse, like our governors, senators and presidents etc But on the other hand, our entire civil service from president to janitor is a shithole.

T0 matter may elicit a chuckle BUT it points to a very serious matter: massive youth unemployment. I doubt if this guy can pay each aide more than 50k monthly out of pocket out of pocket.

Also he will probably spend his constituency project allocations on his bloated staff. So 4 years from now, his constituents will be hardly better off.

He's not alone though. Those without bloated aides sponsor weddings, pay hospital bills, school fees and generally "dash" sums of money to constituents. With such a way of spending money, both looting and poor performance are inevitable.

Keyword here "Cash Inflow" and not "available Balance"

What Buhari fails to understand is, if the system is corrupt everybody would want to steal

..

..

Even as cash inflow, how did a public servant come about N2.2b turnover. The tittle might have been exaggerated but it's disturbing people could be so greedy.

The major problem is the accountability of the recoveries. There is high tendency it will be "relooted". What happens in public service in Nigeria seems to have gone beyond redemption.

As usual, nothing will be done, it will just be a case that will end in plea bargain, a pat in the back and sin no more, that's all.

Listen, those are the people eating the subsidy money! No difference from direct stealing, because a company/individual that pays such huge kickbacks will pass it onto endusers as an operating cost, or outrightly refuse to perform their service obligations.

This is the same reason why some communities have no roads at all and social services are nonexistent - some civil servant somewhere has taken money from the contractors, so the job never gets done.

When they want to steal, there is no tribe or religion, but when they want to divide the poor people and cause confusion in the land, they begin to talk about religion and ethnicity. The masses are the real problem of Nigeria, gullibility is on the high side. So sad.

The Special Presidential Investigation Panel on Recovery of Public Property (SPIP), on Wednesday, said it has recovered over N3 billion from two senior officials by the Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF).

The panel named the officials as Goody Nnadi, who is the General Manager, Corporate Services at the Fund, and Aisha Usman, the General Manager, Operations.

This was disclosed in a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja by the chairman of the panel, Okio Obono-Obla. Details of the press conference was published by Daily Trust newspapers.

Mr Obono-Obla said the agency received a petition that Mr Nnadi operated a corporate account with a hotel named Galbani and Greatwood in Owerri, Imo State.

He said the amount that went into the accounts of Mr Nnadi from 2011 to 2019 “totals N2.2billion, $302,964, €11,000 Euro and £2,000 pounds sterling.”

He also said: “two documents of landed property, $1,000 and €200 Euros were recovered” from the civil servant.

He said Mr Nnadi was quizzed but has been released on bail.
”He is presently undergoing Senior Executive Course (SEC 41, 2019) at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Plateau State.

On Ms Usman, the chairman said findings revealed that she operates nine accounts with one bank alone with a total inflow of N1.4billion.

He said it was discovered that some corporate organisations paid the money into her account.

He noted that the panel has extended invitations to other management staff of PEF as the two await charges against them.

Mr Obono-Obla noted that the suspects admitted helping some of the oil companies to get an allocation from NNPC and paid money into their personal and corporate accounts alleged to be graft.

The SPIP was set up in August 2017 by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. The panel’s operations in the past have been enmeshed in controversy with Mr Osinbajo once ordering the panel to suspend its operations.

If this were to be yahoo yahoo boys I'm sure they would have been paraded for the whole world to see. I keep saying it if the federal government wants to really fight corruption, they should first start with both the federal and state civil service.

The civil service is known to have corrupt individuals working under it, and they don't even care to hide it because they believe nothing can happen to them.

Let the federal government ease up with the way they are using the arrest of yahoo boys to deceive themselves that they're fighting corruption.

Misleading information. How was the money recovered? So by finding cash inflow through 2 account over a 8 year period means you recovered money?
