Nkpolu Rumuigbo
Nkpolu by interpretation means hill top .Geographically, Nkpolu Rumuigbo Junction is situated at a strategic place that is economically useful in terms of road network .

Beyond that,Nkpolu Rumuigbo Junction is a place where four ways meet. From Nkpolu Rumuigbo Junction you can access other part of Port Harcourt including ,Rumuala, GRA ,Port Harcourt LGA via Obi Wali Road.

You can also access the International Airport through Nkpolu/Rumuagholu/SARS Road .

The popular University of Port Harcourt and University Teaching Hospital can be access through the East/West Road .

From this same junction ,you can access Rumuokoro to other part of Port Harcourt including Onne Oil and Gas Sea Port.

Remember Nkpolu means hill top ,you will agree with me that, that is supposed to be the true position. Of course it was a place to identify with until early last year when the place got flooded.

Today Nkpolu Rumuigbo has become a valley of water and sometimes in the news it is called valley of blood as it were. This blood shed Must Stop!.

Looking at the flooding at Nkpolu Rumuigbo junction, no doubt ,few individuals may have contributed to the flooding by blocking water ways, some of them with government connections perhaps .

But we know that Government is for the people and not for individuals. Why then do we live as though we don’t have a government that is of the people.

What wrong has Nkpolu man or Nkpolu Rumuigbo as a community done to the Federal, State and Local Government that cannot be forgiven? Is the reproach not enough? People source of living are grounded for almost 2years, property, goods and cars destroyed on daily basis .What about the man hour loss?Think about the souls that have gone as a result of the flooding.

I also don't want to believe that the shooting & killing on Tuesday was to intimidate the community from any further cry against the abandonment of the failed part of Nkpolu Rumuigbo Road and failed part of the East/West Road?

However, it has become more worrisome that we have the former Super Minister of Transportation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Rt.Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and back home here we have Mr Project, the working Governor of Rivers State Chief Barr. Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike not to talk of our representatives at the National Assemblies and State Assembly.

These two men, the former minister and the Governor of the State are men of capacity. Both of them have carried out Federal Project as Governor and as Chief of Staff unanimously.

At the present, the Governor has carried out projects worth billions of Naira successfully.

In conclusion, Nkpolu Rumuigbo Junction and Nkpolu Rumuigbo Road is not a difficult thing for the Governor, Mr project to handle.

Dear Governor ,Mr Project ,this is part of your community, Nkpolu Rumuigbo in Apara Kingdom. I Am sure you are not taking pleasure in your people's plight, the excruciating pains and sufferings .

The Mr Project I know will at this critical point rise up to the occasion not minding the limited fund available or any hindrance and work towards delivering dividends of democracy to his people ,the Nkpolu Rumumigbo like you have always done.
Thank you sir, this is with utmost anticipation.

The owner made a big mistake and didn't research properly.

The flooding on the road wasn't so bad at the time so his judgement could have been wrong. But still, his building plan was approved. He invested, got attacked. Why should he care about the people after his business was vandalized?

Do you know that if the govt constructs a better drainage system, no matter when, the value of that land will keep appreciating in value? Irrespective of whether sales are coming in or not.

Even if it takes 10 years to fix the road, the value of that property will be higher in 10 years.

What happens if a flood that's too big for that single property occurs? Will you tell other people to give up their lands?

Remember this is 2019. Problems can be solved more efficiently than just allowing water seep through to anywhere.
you dont get it, I dont think you have been to that area .The water came up less than 6 years ago, there was no flood there, people kept building on flood lines and the water started backing up to the road from the inside. There was drainage built on that part when the road was built. On the other side of the rd there is a deep water way there at the end it was blocked off too

Should we discard the government completely and have anarchy
Why does the government collect taxes, levies, rates, fines, penalties and other IGR revenues from the people in addition to the monthly federal allocation?
If the government cannot do its work, why should it continue to exist

Talk true, who collects levies and taxes there. govt or youths? grin grin grin

I understand you partially.
Was the West always like this? Were they never like us in the past? Have you read books set in the West 200 - 500 years ago?
Should we reinforce how we are now as a way to move positively like the West to whom we are losing many of our people, including those who die in Libya and the Mediterranean Sea?

todaynewsreview:
The bodies of at least 74 migrants have been washed ashore in western Libya, in the latest tragedy along the dangerous trafficking route to Europe. The Libyan Red Crescent posted photos of dozens of bodies in black and white bags lined up along the shore near the western city of Zawiya.
A spokesman for the aid organisation said there were still bodies floating out at sea as the agency had no way of retrieving them. He said the migrants were all adults, mostly from sub-Saharan African countries, and all but three were men.
The UN migration agency, the International Organisation of Migration (IOM), said the dinghy had set off on Saturday with 110 people on board. The agency said traffickers deliberately took the engines from the boat and then abandoned it to drift.

NKPOLU JUNCTION IS ON EAST-WEST ROAD (FEDERAL ROAD) LINKING EDO, DELTA, BAYELSA, RIVERS AKWA IBOM & CROSS RIVER STATES.
JUST AS YOU HAVE OKADA JUNCTION IN EDO, NINTH MILE IN ENUGU, AGENEBODE IN EDO ETC.
IT IS NOT A STATE ROAD.

so the state government won't fix it , if it's affecting the people directly ?

With the funds at the disposal of Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta and Lagos, these states should be competing with other developed states in the world.

What you find are glorified slums with hyper inflated mediocre projects and an army of praise singers.
Lol do you know the budget of NY, California, Munich and Co?
No doubt the states you have mentioned should have gone past this level but to compare them to other states in Developed countries is you being unfair.

It had this glory to it. But right now it's a fugged up place!

U can smell the filth in the air as u touchdown the airport. Worse still if u r driving into phc u can't fail but notice how the air tastes in your mouth.

You cant expect much from these leaders with misplaced priorities.

The funds in all Nigerian states is negligible.

South African education budget 2019 is larger than Nigerians national budget 2019...also note that South African population is around 55 million while Nigeria's population is over 200 million

The last time i passed there the taxi i was in got stuck in a pothole covered with water, passengers had to come down and push the taxi. While some youths were standing at the road side waiting for vehicles that will fall into a pothole so they can push it out and be paid. It's quite sad that nothing has been done about that by the government.

All the building especially the fast food that was constructed before this got worse was approved by the government. Heard the owner went to court and won and has reopened her business. There's a new sea growing on the same East/West road by Adamac before Deeperlife. Where is government? If Federal is too far to notice what of state and local govt. Na only to collect money from people they sabi.
