The Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF) has asked all Fulani herdsmen residing in the southern part of the country to vacate immediately if their security was no longer guaranteed.

Addressing a joint press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, the chairman of NEF, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, said the Forum would continue to take up issues relating to the security and safety of Northerners in the South.

He said stakeholders and other well-meaning Nigerians must do everything possible to stop the escalation of sensitive matters that would lead to the breakdown of law and order in the country.

“I will like to take a particular note of the last paragraph of your presentation especially with what we have heard in the last few hours that some violence had already started to manifest in some sections of the country against the herdsmen, who for all known reasons have been in peaceful co-existence in the communities where they have lived for many years.

“Now, certainly we are worried about their safety, like we are worried about the safety of every Nigerian who decided to live wherever they want to.

“But then, if there is no certainty that their safety is guaranteed by the authorities that are immediately around them or by the authorities that have the responsibility for the overall security of all Nigerians wherever they reside, we are certainly worried about their wellbeing and I think particular attention should be paid to what is happening on hour-to-hour, day-to-day basis.

“And if it is indeed, true that there safety is not guaranteed in the places where they are residing, we would rather have them back into areas where there safety is guaranteed, and this is coming back as much as possible to the North.

“They who are residents there should keep us informed and those of us who are monitoring from here should also keep ourselves informed about what is happening,” he said.

Nothing stops them from staying with their cattle in the north.

Let the south experiment with the absence of the herdsmen from here, and see if they have really been the culprit to the insecurity and menace in the south.
If after they’ve vacated the south Nigeria, and the menace still continues, then the manaces all the while were perpetrated by the southerners and not the herdsmen.
If the manace reduced after their exit, definitely, they are the culprits.

The south is volatile now and anything can spark at anytime. The security of the herdsmen isn’t guaranteed anymore.
Unfortunately, we have a clueless being at the helm of affairs.

Vacate Southern Nigeria to where exactly. There must be something fishy going on. So much conspiracy and propaganda going on.

I pity southerners that are still in the north. Especially those that have landed properties and build their whole life there.

In fact, there is something our people just take for granted but it has or speaks so loud.

How many cars do the Hausa own in the south?
How many houses do they build in the south? Or do we think that the business they undertake is not rewarding that they can afford them?, The truth is that the people knows the truth and tell it to themselves.

This move does not solve the issue at hand. It is only for the time being and appears to me as a subtle evacuation that forebodes...

Good news. They should all leave.

They should go and implement the RUGA in there region and leave the south for us we will rear our own cows ourself

It is time to save up for a Gun.

Imagine every Nigerians having a gun. A bus consisting of 18 passengers each with his/her own guns, now 4 kidnappers sprang out of the bush and blocked the high-way.

It is 18 against 4. None would dear to shoot.

Well, if I were a herdsman in the South at this time, I would seriously consider moving back up North, at least until things cool off because popular rhetoric making the rounds suggest that they may start getting attacked any moment from now.
