Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was Wednesday sentenced by a federal judge in Brooklyn to life in prison, marking a humiliating end for a drug lord widely said to be notorious for his ability to kill, bribe or tunnel his way out of trouble. The judge added THIRTY MORE YEARS to the life in prison. This is serious!

Guzman will end up at the federal government’s “Supermax” prison in Florence, Colorado, known as the “Alcatraz of the Rockies.”

Colorado’s bleak Supermax prison is where the United States incarcerates the ‘worst of the worst’ criminals.

Most inmates at Supermax are given a television, but their only actual view of the outside world is a 4-inch window. They have minimal interaction with other people and eat all their meals in their cells.


The supermax federal prison in Colorado is where the Nigerian man, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, is currently serving life term. He was convicted in a U.S. federal court of eight federal criminal counts, including attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and attempted murder of 289 people while on board Northwest Airlines Flight 253 en route from Amsterdam to Detroit, Michigan, on Christmas Day, 2009. On February 16, 2012, he was sentenced to 4 life terms plus 50 years without parole.




Before his sentencing, Guzman complained about the conditions of his confinement and told the judge he was denied a fair trial. He alleged that the U.S. District Judge Brian Cogan failed to thoroughly investigate claims of juror misconduct.

Not what I said, don't quote me. That's what his prison terms in “Supermax” prison said. That facility is where they dump people judged to be the "worst of the worst" criminals. It is too scary to land at that location. It really pays to do good in life and stay away from troubles!

They’re trying to severely limit contact so he won’t establish ties to escape. I rather live the life of a poor man forever than be subjected to this type of inhumane imprisonment."



In general, other than appeal, parole, or pardon, there isn’t a way out of a life sentence. If none of those routes are successful, the convict will probably never be free again

Guzman’s lawyers argued that he was framed by other traffickers who became government witnesses so they could get breaks in their own cases. They said that Guzman was the fall guy for other kingpins who were better at paying off top Mexican politicians and law enforcement officials to protect them while the U.S. government looked the other way.

Just a thought. For a guy with his level of influence in the crime world, do you think he didn't plan for a scenario like this? Taking into consideration that he has been to prison before and escaped, do you really believe he hasn't made arrangements for a possible Super Max future?

Some people here need to read about the Alcatraz of the Rockies to have idea of the ops post. That place is described as the prison of all prisons. There is nothing like escape there. it as simple as that.
