Nine-year-old programmer and future skills activist, Joshua Agboola broke a record by becoming the youngest speaker to present a talk at the recently concluded ICTEL Expo of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This was a first in the 131 years history of the Chamber and got him features in print and electronic media. He talked about the 4th Industrial Revolution and the future shifts in technology that will impact people’s lives, jobs, and businesses, to a rousing ovation of the audience. He had earlier presented at Techpoint Inspired in June alongside top tech personalities like Funke Opeke, Bosun Tijani and Seni Sulyman. A grade 5 pupil of Joyland Schools, Joshua believes there is a need to rework the current educational curriculum to begin to teach relevant skills that will prepare students for the jobs of the future.
