A fairly common sight in lagos parties, nowadays, is the armed presence of soldiers and policemen, alongside hyper-muscular security personnel from private outfits. They usually strut the vicinity of the venue carrying guns or holding belts and whips.

The soldiers are visibly active throughout the events which usually commence in the mornings and stretch deep into the nights.

Amidst the rising concerns of a dire shortage of military personnel required to combat the increasing security issues in the society today, one wonders whether there is any legal basis for civilians to recruit (pay?) soldiers for such arrangements that can easily be handled by private security firms?
