Obadara mourns late Ogun Deputy governor, Rafiu Ogunleye

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatisation at the seventh Assembly, Senator Olugbenga Obadara, has expressed grief over the death of a former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Alhaji Abdul-Rafiu Ogunleye.

In a statement on Monday, Senator Obadara described the death as a sad event for Ogun State and her democracy.

The Chairman of Lucinda Media, owners of Sweet 107.1 F.M, noted that the late Ogunleye was a pillar of the state's democracy and the struggle for a restructured, just, equitable and prosperous society.

According to Senator Obadara, “Ogunleye will be remembered as a public administrator per excellence and a soldier of conscience, especially when he served as the Deputy Governor of the state.

"He stood by his people during their most challenging and difficult time, knowing that politics has a local flavor most of the time".

Senator Obadara prayed that the Almighty God grant the people of the state the fortitude to bear the great loss.
