There are things for the poor and things for the rich ... shoprite selling corn does not affect the road side sellers

why don't you buy raw corn and then boil at home
I do that already. Once in a while one has to spend money on good things. What’s the difference between buying a meal of rice from an expensive restaurant and doing the same from a mama put?

Go there tomorrow you won't see it there again. It might have been bought. They won't put it there if no one is buying it. Go to yam section too, you will laugh at the ridiculous prices you will see but, hey, when you are on queue to pay, then you will see nonsense and overpriced things people pay for.

they are not "nonsense" or overpriced"

the squalid conditions food is being sold in many pit latrines Nigerians call market are making more people buy these stuff from more hygienic markets

besides the expatriate population get their supplies for these things in stores like these
how many times will you see them in the germ infested market?

there is a market for every one and everything

if your own level na to buy from the yama yama joints
so be it i

if your own is shoprite
so be it too tongue

fingers are not equal

So what. Is it a crime to set your prices and standards. Nigerians do not want to pay for anything so they have nothing. The same mentality that scorns this is the same mentality that multiplies thè number of women selling corn by the road side for peanuts (no pun intended). If you cannot connect the dots then you have no hope.

I simply cannot accept a situation where the economy keeps on sinking, the purchasing power of Nigerians eroding year on year and instead of fighting to turn around the situation we fight to justify it and manage it that way. My first salary was N212 a month and in six months I had a fully furnished house and robust savings. It can barely buy half that corn. Is that the fault of Shoprite.

Continue complaining and don't do what the citizens of other nations do. Let us see how low we can go and how poor we can get before our senses kick in.

The 500 naira corn is a clear indicator as to how far we have fallen behind the rest of humanity and the plethora of reactions is a clear reason why.

exactly!

Please help me tell them oo. To plant a sweetcorn and fruit that large is serious effort but they want to take it for free.

Seedling for sweetcorn is very expensive.
Also, if it was grown in a green house, the cost would be added. It's difficult to explain to someone not in the business.

Not considering the size and Kg. And not cooked. Not transported to a mall Not with a tax. Not with a simulated environment for it to last long enough.
Plenty things attached.
Not all catfish are sold at the same price.

A farmer work inside the sun. You sit in the comfort of your home and buy 1gb data for 700-1000, but a corn which is very nutritional and big enough to satisfy a normal human being is sold for 499.99 the internet is not resting.

Pity the farmers. I am a proud farmer.
