Liverpool VS Norwich city:
Both teams would be coming into the match with the will to impress. After an underwhelming pre season for Liverpool losing 3 and winning just 1 they would be looking at starting the season on a high as they ended the previous by winning the champions league. For the most parts of the pre season however, their front three of Salah, Firmino and Mane which produced a combined 69 goals last season was absent.
After a 4 year hiatus, Norwich city has returned back to the premier league. The championship winners have been tipped by many to be relegated after spending just over a million pounds in the transfer window. The canaries would have 38 game weeks to prove their doubters wrong and the first starts at Anfield.

Liverpool:
Mane who was a huge source of points for the Liverpool attack last season might be missing in action against Norwich, the Senegalese international didn't participate in all of the pre season matches and only returned from his extended break on Monday. It is highly unlikely he would start the match so you might want to bring him into your team later but not today. A more likely option is the most expensive player in the game, Mohammed Salah. The Egyptian supplied a total 259 points and sits in about 41% of teams. His consistency over the past two seasons is undeniable and it doesn't seem like that will stop against the canaries. The Liverpool defence looked shaky in the pre season although their impressive defence which only conceded 22 goals -10 at anfield, must not be overlooked.
The most popular option in the back is the big centre back Van Dijk(£6.5m). However, their full backs Alexander Arnold and Andy Robertson(both 7.0m) who produced a combined 25 assists should not be ignored. Their price may be high but they are sure to bring value for money.

Norwich:
The canaries who were championship winners would be looking to make an impression against the runners up of last season. Teemu Pukki (£6.5m) who was the highest goal scorer in the championship with 29 goals could be a likely pick. Though he sits in just 3% of squads, he might be the stand out player in the canaries team. Also, £4.0m rated Hanley may be an option in defence to free up funds to improve your attack.

Final verdict:
An upset is unlikely in today's game and the season should likely begin with a win for the Meyerside side. Their home record speaks for them also.
A Liverpool win is my option.
