Been humble is a choice is not something u force on others...

Na only the Military nd the Police fit force u to b humble...

Nature teach the rude to elders hard lesson in life. If you are a Bible student, check the story of the children of Noah and what happened to the child that derided him when he was drunk and naked and compare with the one that covered his unclothedness.
Remember also the children that called Elisah baldheaded and what the Lion did to them?

For me to commend him, he has to dual the road from Ore to Akure. That road water many lives. Haba!
Also, he must visit the Southern parts of that state. The areas especially the "Ilajes" have been so much be neglected in many areas.
No light,
No through roads in some parts,
No quality education,
No portable water etc.
That area generates more the states federal allocation.

Yorubas are very respectful people.

Even that FFK screaming nonsense would show some respect whenever he meets the Tinubu he constantly abuses on social media.

I am proudly Yoruba!!! Arrogantly Yoruba!!!

One very thing I like about the Yorubas is the respect they have for people that deserve it and how they flaunt it.

Heartwarming, I must say.

Respect!

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, who was in Ondo state for the 2019 Fagunwa Study Group International Conference, was personally driven and conducted round some projects of the present administration in Akure by the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN.

The Governor and other members of the state executive Council alongside Soyinka were at the 'A'Division/NEPA as well as the ongoing dualisation of NEPA/Oluwatuyi round about.

The Nobel Laureate hailed Governor Akeredolu over the giant infrastructural strides of his administration in the state.

Soyinka who commended Akeredolu for his good works, also congratulated the people of the state for electing Governor Akeredolu as their Governor.

Soyinka said "the fact shows the light", explaining that it took him some time to recognise the A'Division/NEPA and NEPA/Olukayode ongoing dualisation project because of the serious infrastructural transformation that is going on in the area.

The Nobel Laureate who disclosed that he has been on constant visit to the state in the course of his literary work, observed that governor Akeredolu has changed the face of the state.

International status, literary Icon, Nobel Prize winner, social critic, human right and political activist and conscience of the nation until he somehow supported Buhari's election in 2015 despite knowing far better. From his well publicised opinion of Buhari.

He could have become stupendously rich by just siding with the govt of the day and getting oil blocks and contracts like a typical Nigerian. But he didn't

Yes he deserves all the respect.

Before I supported Soyinka about this but truth be said, what Soyinka did was wrong! In retrospect, Soyinka could have simply have asked the young man first if he could have his seat.

Which Achebe?

Achebe is a storyteller, not a literary genius.
He told his stories just how the white colonialists saw Africa. That's why he never won a Nobel.

Go check out Soyinka's books. They open your brain and blockheads can't understand them. There's his book, The Interpreters. Mad bok. If you read without eating, e fit run person mad.

Achebe was a genius. "Things Fall Apart" has been rated one of the 12 books one must read. Another is "To Kill A Mocking Bird".

The reason why he probably wasn't considered was because at a point, he stopped writing. This I suspect was as a fallout of the civil war which might have traumatised him. They would have needed his most recent work as part of their assessment.
