They restricte or regulate the numbers of home based pilgrims and even away ones to avoid stampede which used to be a frequent occurrence years back.

The whole nation cannot be there because its not free for them too. Means they also pay money to perform hajj.


I think there's restrictions and quota for each country including Saudi Arabia to prevent stampeding and over crowding. E.g hajj visa will be issue to someone who performed hajj in the last five years.

Some Islamic scholars are of the view that it is good to encourage the people living near Makkah to give the guests space. Perhaps this is the reason why Saudi doesn't have many indigenes doing Hajj.

Also, there's more to it than just having money. Not all Saudis have what it takes to observe Hajj every year. Bearing in mind that Hajj is only compulsory once in a lifetime, every other Hajj you do is naafilah (supererogatory)

Merchants in Saudi ask any black person if he or she is from Nigeria because we dwarf other Africans. Some of them have learnt some Hausa and Yoruba words to entice pligrims to patronise them! They even know Hausa and Yoruba are different tribes from Nigeria

Percentage of global product is not the same as monetary value.

And if other nations are not interested it is probably because it is not sufficiently lucrative. You see how Malaysia, in particular learned from Nigeria how to become proficient in farming palm products - that is because they could see how important ond valuablj polm products are. Groundnut has never been such.

That is precisely what happens, they subsidize all of this nonsense. Some of them (many of them) are taking stolen state funds to waste on this jamboree. Their travel is subsidized, the dollars that they will exchange are subsidized. It is a complete waste of money.

Even during recession Muslims will waste money on this nonsense.

Despite recession, states, others spend over N136.5bn on Hajj
At least N136.5bn has been spent on Hajj in 2017 by state governments and individuals despite the current recession in the country, Saturday PUNCH investigation has revealed.

According to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, no fewer than 91,000 Nigerians had arrived in Saudi Arabia out of the over 1.7 million foreign pilgrims in the country to perform this year’s Hajj. Meanwhile, the average Hajj fare approved by NAHCON to states for each traveller is N1.5m.

For example, information made available by NAHCON showing the approved 2017 Hajj seats and fares per state disclosed the package for travellers from Nasarawa State as N1,544,659.85; Niger, N1,525,483.30; Ondo, N1,485,096.07; Katsina, N1,498,502.70; Bauchi, N1,523,122.41; Plateau, N1,529,036.80; Sokoto, N1,521,461.65; and Kwara, N1,501,571.27, among others.

Therefore, at an average fare of N1.5m, 91,000 Nigerians would have spent a minimum of N136.5bn on the exercise, with part of it coming from public purse provided by state governments.

Black people will remain backward and underdeveloped if we continue being foolish. How many Saudi citizens or Jews have we even seen in the 'Osun Oshogbo' festival? The last time I checked it was zero. However, poor African and south east Asian nations, instead of using their meagre resources to develop their nations and improve the standard of living of their people, will spend billions of dollars on religious tourism in Mecca and Jerusalem and come back to their country to psychologically oppress the poor masses who cannot and will never afford the trip.

Africans may never have sense if they refuse to learn that they have been scammed, big time, by the Arabs and the Jews who are pushing their culture on us while we still, indirectly, pay for this cultural destruction we are experiencing. African countries should ban hajj and all forms of foreign religious pilgrimage which, for over 100 years, have never served us any good. Look at Japan and China, they are too smart for all this nonsense and they don't have to deal with this colossal waste of money and time.
